I'm starting on the Chiveis trilogy by Bryan M. Liftin.
Hey, the other day I was re-reading ToU, and I just realized that I still don't get what "mande" (that fragment on Jett's tombstone) means. Anybody have any ideas?

Wasn't his elven name Hamandar?

Well . . . yes. *had forgotten how it was actually spelled* In that case, I don't know, but I always just assumed it was part of his name.

'twas part of Hamandar, I believe. It was probably only the first half of the 'a', and so it looked like it could be an 'e'. (Or some similar case if it was written in an elvish language - half the letter being missing.)

I saw that too from the Go Teen Writers blog, but when I checked Amazon the prices were still the same.

Dmitri Pendragon: That's weird . . . maybe the offer is only good in certain countries.

Has anyone ever read Leviathan by Scott Westerfield? I picked it up at the library today and am really excited to read it.

Hey, I just found out that I have the list of books that used to be on the old Reading Ideas and Discussions thread sitting in a document on my computer. Should I post it?

hey, does anyone know how to do that "spoiler" thing? I can't seem to figure it out...

Put [spoiler.][/.spoiler] around what you want to be hidden, taking the periods out of the spoiler tags.

I've recently become interested in the Wingfeather Saga, and I couldn't help but notice that its fanbase is sadly small. It's there- but there's just not very many. Are there any fans here? I haven't actually read the books yet, but I just requested that my library get them. And they're usually pretty good about following up on requests.

@elethia: ARE THERE ANY FANS HERE? YES! I'm not as much a fan as some of my friends are, but I still love them. They're amazing books.

Leilani Sunblade: The Alloy of Law yesterday. Steelheart today. And in Steelheart, I was finally able to figure out something before the characters did. The way to defeat Steelheart. Ha. Next I'll be reading Firefight—and, because of events in the last few chapters of Steelheart, I will be very interested to see how this book plays out. EDIT: Three hours later. Now I've finished Firefight. Absolutely knew that was going to happen. Of course, it had to happen sometime. Gah. When is Calamity coming out? Elethia Arvell: I know Aviar Goldeneagle has read Wingfeather, and I hope to read them in the future.

@leilani: Oh, good! I figured there would be at least a few here. I'm excited to start the series. I've been looking all over the internet for a place to borrow the ebook versions with now luck. Dmitri Pendragon: Looks like we're in the same boat.

Dmitri Pendragon: unfortunately, the only Sanderson books at my library are the Mistborn trilogy and The Way of Kings...

Dmitri Pendragon Pendragon: Really? I never guessed that- how to kill Steelheart. As for the end of Firefight . . . I kind of saw it coming too (it was one of two or three possible theories for the ending, two of which were correct in some fashion), but that didn't make it hurt any less. I can't remember when Calamity comes out, unfortunately, but not for a while. @elethia: I hope you can find somewhere! Kirenyth Fireblade: Ouch. That stinks. But those are the two awesomest series, in my opinion, so you've got that going for you.

By Darkness Hid is free on Kindle today, and Jill Williamson is trying to get it to the #1 Free Book on Amazon. If you don't have the Kindle edition yet, I highly recommend you check it out.

Wow, I haven't been on here for awhile. Elethia Arvell: Yeah, I've read the Wingfeather Saga. I love the books. EDIT: I've been re-reading the Berinfell Prophecies. Someone really needs to make a movie of the books.

EDIT: I've been re-reading the Berinfell Prophecies. Someone really needs to make a movie of the books. Hear, hear!! One of these days, we should probably get around to doing that xP Is it just me, or have we been talking about making them into movies for quite some time?

Kirenyth Fireblade: It's not just you. The Berinfell Prophecies Movie has been a topic of discussion for Elves across the years. I have a few ideas for a movie that differ from the book, with Jett's motorbike skills coming more into play.
