((So, literally every single one of my professors chose last week and this week to have major projects due. As a result, I haven't had a ton of free time and thus haven't posted here until now. Sorry.))
Master Force took a paper file from a drawer and slid it across the desk. "This contains names of all those who were involved in the revolt or who have worked closely with Eon in the past, along with files of major players in either group. Many of those who worked with her before have already been questioned and acquitted, but . . . there is always the chance that they knew something and forgot it. Perhaps you can jog their memories- but do it subtly." He paused. "I suggest you begin with Grant Warren or Wi-Fire. Warren was Eon's aide; Wi-Fire interacted with her on a fairly regular basis. Both have been cleared, so far as they know, though we're keeping our eyes on Warren for the moment. Either of them might know something about Eon's activities outside of her work for me. And Wi-Fire's talents may be particularly useful in this situation." ------------ Mira tapped her fingernails against her keyboard, gaze focused on the laptop screen. She'd switched to two-screen mode so that she could search her databases for any intel on Eon while the security footage played on the large monitor. "Eon has demonstrated a greater willingness to cooperate and let others take at least a share of the credit than most others of her power level have. She tended to care less about who accomplished something and more about whether or not it got done. So, definitely not a me-or-no-one mentality, not to the level of Master Force or Trick Shot or other powered members of Force's group. If she thought that someone else was just as likely to have a chance to take out Force than she was, she would've shared it. Or, even if she wanted to be the one to kill him, she might've just wanted to make sure that if he took her out first, there'd be others who could avenge her. Anyway, as for who she was close to . . . I'm working on that."
((Brief Notes on various characters:
Eon: Formerly one of Master Force's two lieutenants. Gifted with time manipulation and ability to speed up or slow down the effects of aging on people. Also an excellent shot with a pistol. Handled more of the intelligence and secret operations side of things, while Trick Shot handled the more open defense/attack type stuff. Didn't get along particularly well with Trick Shot, but was fine with most other people. Past largely unknown, even by Master Force, who she joined before he came and took over. Some people think she came from up north somewhere; others say she's from Europe, possibly Switzerland, though she doesn't exactly look Swiss. Very good at saying a great deal without actually telling you anything.
Trick Shot: MF's other lieutenant. Gifted with super-shooting ability (perfect aim and never runs out of bullets), limited precognition, heightened reflexes (danger sensing and can summon glimpses of the next fifteen seconds), and short bursts of superspeed. Runs the military/security/police side of MF's organization. Known to dislike Eon for reasons unknown. Joined MF shortly after Eon. Past is unknown by most, but MF knows a fair bit that he's not telling. Independent except when he's telling people what to do, but he gets the job done and so people either respect or fear him for the most part.
Grant Warren: Former aide to Eon. Has been reassigned to the administrative side of MF's organization, though he's being kept away from sensitive materials. Is not an idiot; has noticed that he's under suspicion but pretends not to know. Pretty decent guy, even if he does work for MF. Quiet. Good shot, but not great. There were rumors of some kind of relationship between him and Eon at one point, and they pop up again every so often, but there hasn't been any real evidence to back up the rumors, so they die out pretty quickly.
Wi-Fire: Real name Manda Teller. Low-ranking superhuman in MF's forces. Gifted with fire manipulation and the ability to mentally connect to, and to a fairly limited degree, control any electronic device within a mile which is connected to the internet. (As a side note: our charries' hideout is significantly more than a mile away from anywhere Wi-Fire commonly is.) This connection takes considerable mental focus, especially if she wants to actually access files, which she can only do if they and the device are not secured. Worked under Eon in intelligence/special operations. Is still in that field, having convinced MF that she's not guilty.))

((Leilani, don't feel pressured to have every post of yours a GM turning point. GMing is hard. Sometimes participation in the conversation is fine.))
"Hrm." Thrasher sank back in his beanbag and turned his gaze to the screen. "Fine. I'll accept that. With reservations." He pointed at the screen. "Can you put that on the intranet so I can download it? They look like they're talking and we might be able to read lips on a higher res."

(( Dmitri Pendragon: Thanks. I know that? But I had people in both scenes asking for information on Eon, and I wanted to provide something, at least.)) "Good thought. I should be able to- give me a minute." Mira had already copied the file from Master Force's database, just in case, so now she just had to close the video and upload the file to the group's intranet server. "It's uploading. Give it five or ten minutes; it's a pretty big file."

Vane picked up the file folder but didn't thumb through it just yet. "Question the major players, fine. Subtly. As for the others...'subtly' so that they won't tell, or 'subtly' so that they won't speak again?" Master Force knew that the means employed by Vane in the past had always been pragmatic, utilitarian; oftentimes unpleasant. He would do whatever was required to end the conflict...brutally if neccessary.
(Working on getting Vanessa started but I have been rendered brain dead this lsat week. Speaking of "GM" General Motors is the reason I am brain dead xD)

(( jliessa44: GM = gamemaster. Leilani Sunblade: Yeah, it means you get to play both sides of responsibility. )) Thrasher grunted in acknowledgement. "We got anything else to say? Otherwise I'll get back to my drones and start building a report on Eon." And studying the security recording in minute detail.

((True.))
"Subtly so they will not tell," Master Force replied. "Try not to damage them unnecessarily; we may need them later, and in the case that they happen to be loyal, or can be brought back around to loyalty . . . it would be a shame to waste such resources. However, in the event that violence is necessary, I leave it to your discretion. I trust you will not fail me." -------- Mira shook her head. "I'm done. Unless anyone else has anything to add, I should start doing my own research to see if I can figure out who Eon might have told."

Thrasher rose. "Use your head, kid. Take the initiative. Do some pipe-fixing in the capekilling network." He opened the door and glanced over his shoulder. "Since me and Mira are looking for who it is, maybe you figure out what we do after we figure out who it is."

Brett restrained himself from reacting, since he had asked the question, not liking Thrasher's suggestions had more to do with the work involved than anything else. "I can do that I suppose."

"Very well." Vane replied simply. He took the file folder and left, shutting the door behind him. As he headed back to his vehicle, he flipped open to Grant Warren's file. An address, last-sighted, whatever he could find to locate the individual directly, and subtly.
-------
Vanessa clicked on her dim TV for the fifth time since she got back from work. Still nothing appeared to be happening on the superhero scene today...the ominous lack of chaos recently was starting to make her nervous. Whether or not it was because she wanted to go out and do something, or because she was afraid of having to do so, she was uncertain.
-------
(Time for an old character port methink)
She'd had a tough go of things lately. All of a sudden the world stopped looking kindly upon people like her...if we really are people, she thought bitterly to herself. Misused, misconstrued...but now she knew what she had to do to keep people from hunting her. She couldn't stop the hunters--but she could stop the other people they were hunting. When all the dangerous supers were gone, then she could be safe. The answers were in her head all along...she just needed to listen to them. Alice had no one to thank for the revelation but herself.

The file indicated that Grant still spent much of his time in the headquarters proper, performing very low-grade administrative duties. When he was off-duty, he could be found in his apartment in a nearby complex.

Vane noted that Warren still held limited administrative responsibilities. Making his best guess about where in the compound he would most likely be working, Vane headed there promptly.
(Are you glad she's back?)

((I am, and I'm curious about what she's going to get up to.))
Grant had been temporarily reassigned as an administrative aide on the logistics side of things, supply and acquisitions to be exact. When Vane found him, he was sorting through a list of supply files and transferring the information to a tablet. He looked up warily as Vane approached. "May I help you, sir?"
