I bought Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess HD. DUDE. Non-spoiler review: They basically flipped the map (like a mirror image, which was unsettling). Colors are brighter, people have more detail (a dude I thought was bald actually had extremely hairy arms wut). Controls aren't really easy, but you learn them (no more Wii-mote and Nunchuck). Music and characters are still beautiful, the story still rocks, and I got an Amiibo as well

You can't use the Wiimote? You have to use the game pad?

Post by WookieeElf on Apr 10, 2016 18:13:15 GMT
Yup, no Wiimote. They adapted the controls onto the Wii-U game pad. So instead of shaking the remote, you just button-mash.

I mean, the shaking really didn't make anything better or different. Skyward Sword it actually mattered, because of the motion plus aspect.

Yeah, SS was fun because of the heightened motion sensor. And by fun I mean almost comically funny watching your sister try to reset the connection so Link would actually swing right when she did.

I played some of it and the sequel. Never completed them, though.

Just spent the evening in my friend's room playing Halo 3 online with him...we roasted people xD my favorite trick was waiting for someone to walk by an explosive object and blasting it xD so cathartic... WookieeElf ya feel me? Ark is a pretty cool game. And No Man's Sky looks to be sweet

Sooo... Just out of curiosity, does anyone else play Kingdom Hearts? I play it a bit! Kingdom Hearts: Re:coded for the DS. I wanted to play the first ones (because of the long storyline), but we don't have any PS game systems. And I really wanted to start the story at the beginning, so I got graphic novels of the first games. Let me just say that Japanese-style comics are a bit hard to read...you have to start at the "back" of the book, and it's hard to remember which way you're supposed to read the panels (left page first, or right? Bottom, or top?)...

I beat the two main games, and am slowly playing through some of the other ones for the story. I actually read Japanese-style comics (manga) a lot, so I'm used to it. I haven't specifically read the ones for HK, but I do have one of the light novels. The main reason I asked was because there's a new HK app that was released in America a couple weeks ago, and I'm sort of addicted to it. XD

So I stayed the night with my friend Kris, and I brought my copy of Halo 4 and an Xbox controller with me. Turns out even though he's a huge gamer (and so are his parents), he's never played halo except for a long time ago on PC! Before I knew that I was planning on getting squashed again (all of my other gamer friends are experts at halo, especially PVP, and since I can't play much I'm not that good)

Short survey for my gamer friends, as information for an essay I may or may not end up writing: - Do you become emotionally involved in video games?
- If so, in what way and in what games?
- What makes you become emotionally involved in a game?
- Would you say you become more or less emotionally involved in video games as opposed to other media (such as movies, books, etc.)?
- Do you have any other thoughts on whether or not you respond emotionally to video games?
Thanks in advance for your answers.

*clears throat* Ahem, ahem... 1. Yes, I do. Too much. 2. Usually emotionally-invested. Like...my mood will change if the game's atmosphere does. Usually adventure RPGs and the like. 3. The characters and the music. 4. I'd say it's pretty equal. 5. Well, when I first finished Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess, I cried for two days, and I was upset for a week after completing Halo: Reach. So...yeah. The cons of being a girl gamer XP

Leilani Sunblade 1.) In the case of a particularly special game (in terms of characters or story), yes 2.) I get attached to the characters in that I make myself relate to them way way way too deeply. In the case of storyline, I always take the story too seriously. 3.) The complexity and realism of characters, and the storyline 4.) Much more in games than other media 5.) For some reason I often make myself relate to the characters that the game or story wants people to think are "bad", I guess because I want to understand their complexities; why they do what they do. But it's characters and stories like The Last Of Us that reeeally get me...ones that leave the moral canvas gray and make you think about what you would do and what you would be in a world like that. Characters like Joel are the ones I get most attached to.

Ha that's what you think xD It was fun and cool and unique wen it first came out. Honestly though I think that game has expired itself after so many editions

Meh... I kinda like all the theories around it, and I've actually only ever played the first game... But I really hate most things horror, and I couldn't even get past the first night the first time I tried. Now I've been able to play without exiting the game five seconds into it.

Lol. Yeah. Though, usually I only watch videos from certain YouTubers about the game. Soo... I don't entirely know how the rest of the internet feels about it.
Heh... Probaby not. XD If it's in the horror genre, then more than likely I'm to chicken to play.

"Fun" fact about Five Night's at Freddy's: The creator of the game (Scott Cawthon) is a Christian who previously made a Pilgrim's Progress movie and video game, also a game about an automated coffee pot trying to save a human embryo from being discarded, and a bunch others. So yeah.

I haven't played FNAF, and I don't want to. Wait, i think i have, actually. Oh yeah...
Basically, my dad downloaded it for our tablet, and I, being curious (and somewhat stupid) decided to try it. I did jump a few times, but I found it...boring. Like, it got so much hype—but you just press buttons? Meh.
So I'll just sit here and wait for the new Star Wars Lego and Legend of Zelda.

Warrior of Aror Really? Huh... I feel like I knew that, but I'm not sure. XD WookieeElf Well... I sort of thought that when I watched a couple of people play the first game, but I don't think that anymore. For me, the fun of the first game (and probably the other games, I just haven't actually played those ones) is the challenge of actually getting through the nights and beating the game. It's pretty difficult for the later nights. And as for the game series as a whole, the theories surrounding the games is really interesting. Or I think so at least. Also, there's a lot more than just pressing buttons in the other fnaf games...

Looks like the new Battlefield game coming out is gonna be a heck of a lot better than the new CoD. World War I setting is going to be cool. Battlefield devs actually listen to their community whereas CoD is just like "screw em, we're making another futuristic game guys". Lol.

I thought Infinite Warfare looked awesome. It looks like a sci-fi Call of Duty game done right. I haven't played Advanced Warfare, but it didn't look that great to me. Infinite Warfare, on the other hand, lets you battle in space.
