WookieeElf: I wonder if he did this on Wednesday... Yup, that looks like a Wednesday recital! XP Wow, the way he just pounds the piano...it makes me cringe. Don't break it, over-zealous man!

I heard that a group of master pianists actually did that once. They actually flopped on a piano? :P Flopped on a piano to finish off the Death Waltz thing. xD

I'm posting this because Kathrynn told me to.
Anywho, she asked in the HYE thread if anyone had written parodies of songs. I admitted that I have, and she wanted me to post one. So, I give you...
Do You Want To Go On An Adventure? (Do You Want To Build A Snowman? Parody!)
*MAJOR SPOILERS FOR THE HOBBIT MOVIES*
Thorin: Master Baggins? (knock) Do you want to go on an adventure? Come help me claim back Durin’s Hall! We may run into stone trolls few, And there’s a dragon, too, But what can go wrong? Kathrynn: BUT WAIT! THERE'S MORE!!
On a slightly, funnier note...
Be Prepared (Marvel Version)
Loki: I never thought Chitauri essential They're crude and unspeakably plain But maybe they've a glimmer of potential If allied to my vision and brain
I know that your powers of retention Are as wet as a Bildshnipe’s backside But thick as you are, pay attention My words are a matter of pride
It's clear from your vacant expressions The lights are not all on upstairs But we're talking kings and successions Even you can't be caught unawares
So prepare for a chance of a lifetime Be prepared for sensational news A shining new era is tiptoeing nearer
Chitauri 1: And where do we feature?
Loki: Just listen to teacher I know it sounds sordid but you'll be rewarded When at last I am given my dues! And in justice deliciously squared Be prepared!
Chitauri 2: Yeah! Be prepared, we'll be prepared! For what?
Loki: For the death of the king!
Chitauri: What? Is he sick?
Loki: (deadpan) No, fool. We're going to kill him and Thor, too
Chitauri 2: Great idea! Who needs a king?
Chitauri 1 & 2: No king, no king! Lalalalalala
Loki: Idiots! There will be a king!
Chitauri: But you said- Loki: I will be king! Stick with me and you'll never go hungry again!
Chitauri: Yay, all right! Long live the king! Long live the king! It's great that we'll soon be connected With a king who'll be all-time adored
Loki: Of course, quid pro quo, you're expected To take certain duties on board The future is littered with prizes And, though, I'm the main addressee The point that I must emphasize is You won't get a sniff without me!
All: (Loki echoing) So prepare for the coup of the century Loki: Be prepared for the murkiest scam Meticulous planning, tenacity spanning Decades of denial is simply why I'll Be king undisputed, respected, saluted And seen for the wonder I am Yes, my freezing ambitions are bared- Be prepared!
All: Yes, our freezing ambitions are bared- Be prepared!

This piece is super fun! I've been learning it for the past few months. :D You should check out his Lord of the Rings Medley as well--it's INSANE.

So . . . I'm bored with all my current writing/editing music. Any suggestions for something new? For writing do you prefer orchestral-type stuff? EDIT: Have you checked out Adrian von Ziegler? Also, the Lord of the Rings soundtracks are what I usually use.

@cng: Orchestral? Not necessarily. Just instrumental or sometimes a cappella- anything where the lyrics aren't something that can easily distract me.
I've listened to both Adrian von Ziegler and LotR a lot, but thanks anyway.

Hmm... Are you writing fantasy/medieval-type stuff?

Some of the time, but what I'm currently editing is more modern fantasy- not quite urban fantasy, but close. Thus my other problem: most of the music I listen to doesn't quite fit the setting.

@leilani: Have you listened to Leah? Her songs are kinda like what you're describing.

@wookiee: I've listened to some of Leah's music, but the lyrics are generally too distracting for me to actually get anything done. Thanks for the suggestion, though. @cng: Thanks anyway.

Leilani Sunblade I usually listen to classical music, because I have the same problem you do with lyrics and stuff. :P You could try the How To Train Your Dragon soundtrack though. Or maybe some quiet, eerie electronic music.

Love the LotR parody, Wookie! I'm having a hard time finding the rhythm at parts(I don't think it quite matches up), but overall great job! I'm a big fan of parodies.

BTW, Wookieeelf, about breaking pianos... My brother has broken four or five strings on ours I haven't yet, but I think I might soon...

I'm trying to think. Is it one of the Hunger Games soundtracks that has mostly instrumental, or am I remembering something else?

Leilani Sunblade Audiomachine does all instrumental music, and it's the best for writing to. I would personally recommend their 'Tree of Life' album, which is my absolute favourite and 'Chronicles' is probably next after that...but all their music is amazing.

@ellron: Oops. Now that I look over it again... Gonna have to fix it. @mikul: Oooh dear. You see, I'm used to a keyboard, not a grand piano, so when I see people pound the keys...yikes. Kathrynn: Yay!

Out of all the artists I listen to, there are only a select few that I always come back to. Currently I'm obsessed with We Came As Romans, and last week it was The Devil Wears Prada. Memphis May Fire or Beartooth are bound to be next week. :P

O.o What? H-how did this happen without my noticing…? *runs off to YouTube* EDIT Whooh. Thank goodness. I think that you're thinking of Oxygen:Inhale, CN, not Oxygen:Exhale. *wipes sweat off brow* I'm glad I didn't miss the release… my loyalty as a fan would have been called into question.
