We had a computer with 32 GB of memory and I have no idea how much RAM. 707. On the topic of CDs and whatnot, compressed MP3 files actually have the worst sound quality. CDs are better, but vinyl records actually have the greatest and clearest sound quality :P kind of ironic, huh? Ellron Silvertree: RAM is memory. Okay, I said that wrong. I meant 32GB of hard drive memory(space). RAM is Random Access Memory, and it's needed for running things, that's not what I meant. My bad. My current laptop has 8 GB of RAM and 1 TB of hard drive space.

I wish there were someone that would get this. it made me laugh so hard hahaha I'm not sure I quite get it--is it just the irony? Not necessarily, just the fact that it displays the scene so well haha. The endless anticipation, the long breakdowns comprised of open strings plucked repeatedly on a guitar tuned down to Drop C, and, of course, the sound of glass shattering randomly. :P Which is why I didn't expect anyone to get it, because there's no one here with the same musical interests as me. xD

I don't have much guitar knowledge, and you're right, the whole cleverness of how the music expressed the scene completely went over my head xP EDIT: Wait, you could tell the tuning just by ear? Do you happen to have perfect pitch, by any chance?

I just recognize the tuning because I use Drop C quite a bit, and I listen to a lot of music where Drop C is the primary. :P Though I guess I also recognize Drop D, Drop B and Drop F# when they're used.

I can often say I have perfect pitch in regards to violin! (I don't actually, I can just tell by the notes that people play wrong which key they're playing in. I can't do it with really good violinists. )

A few song types I hate: Disney songs VeggieTales songs (I didn't even really like them when I was a little kid) Christmas songs when sung in June
Had to suffer through all of these on the way home tonight...-_-

there's a 10 hour version of everything these days. and that song is pretty good, I think I've heard of Theocracy from Sir Batson actually
I really hate it when people say that God is against or hates metal. as far as I'm concerned, there is no verse in the Bible that says anything about loud music being Satanic. in fact... Psalm 150:1-6:
"Praise the Lord! Praise God in his sanctuary; praise him in his mighty heavens! 2 Praise him for his mighty deeds; praise him according to his excellent greatness! 3 Praise him with trumpet sound; praise him with lute and harp! 4 Praise him with tambourine and dance; praise him with strings and pipe! 5 Praise him with sounding cymbals; praise him with loud clashing cymbals! 6 Let everything that has breath praise the Lord! Praise the Lord!"
I mean, I can understand why people would say that about screaming vocals, because when someone screams you don't exactly think of something peaceful and heavenly haha. but at the same time, if the sound of the music is what decides whether or not it praises God, then why not write lyrics praising the Devil because after all, lyrics don't matter, right? and all the Christian metal bands are going to H e l l?

I think the main thing people criticize metal about is that it's so often angry-sounding. Yknow, like chewing out hypocrites and saying how sinners gonna burn and stuff. It's basically the definition of judging. And yeah I like to listen to metal too but not that kind. It's not the music, it's just the words and attitude. Again, I like the music too so I'm not hating, I'm just understanding

Metal is cool, in my opinion, but my head can't stand it XP
Now, being totally random, extra-tired me time! Anyway, I'm kinda a fan of shows that showcase people's talents and stuff like that (aka The Voice and America/Britain's Got Talent) and I just think it's really neat to see what people have hiding in the wings. I'm just gonna be silly now and share my favorite audition vids here.
First is Collabro, who are the only British boy band I like. Sorry, 1D.
This kid is definitely going places.
And I am totally jealous of this girl. I love this song, and, considering the original movie recording had obvious editing to vocal track, this is amazing.

NightBlade: yeah, the angry feeling is probably why haha. personally I kind of like it. *shrugs* to each their own. but I do have to cringe at the songs that basically shout "you're gonna burn in H e l l" WookieeElf: Collabro is amazing; that kid really is going to go somewhere in life; and that girl's voice is very soothing haha here you go, guys

@ellron: Well...technically yes. In the movie (The Fifth Element) it was sung by an alien.

CNGoodhue So basically, you like judging music but you hate it when people judge your judging music? xD haha, yeah, I do have the tendency to judge other people's music and then hate it when they judge mine. hypocrisy at it's best, but I do try to remind myself that music is subjective and that my musical tastes aren't higher than anyone else's. I'm starting to become more open-minded lol. I used to hate every genre of music except for metal and rock. now I listen to pop, electronic/dubstep, and I even kinda like rap and hip hop now. but I will never like country *shivers*

I can't watch YouTube videos, but I was wondering if anyone had a list of songs for writing? I'm writing something sad atm, but any mood of music works. With lyrics preferably, but instrumental works too. Basically I need music and I've kinda gotten bored w/ my stuff. I usually listen to soundtracks anymore. So yeah.
