Mine isn't until tomorrow . . . but I had my first official meeting as Honors Org secretary today, so that was exciting.
How was your move-in? Your first day?

I'm at school early because I'm helping with orientation team. It's nice to be back, but I miss home.
Leilani/Jliessa: How far away are you guys? One of you goes to the same place NB went, right?

It's a ministry called Piercing Word. I'll be an audio guy. Stage crew stuff too. I am quite excited and a bit nervous.

Mine isn't until tomorrow . . . but I had my first official meeting as Honors Org secretary today, so that was exciting. How was your move-in? Your first day? My move in was pretty smooth, other than being left by football players in an abandoned hallway for twenty minutes. Lol. My classes have been pretty cool, but so much homework. So much. I've made some friends too, so that's cool. Ellron Silvertree. Our schools are fairly close all things considered, idk how close exactly. Kirenyth Fireblade That's awesome! What are you studying?

Does anyone remember on the old UG when we used to count the posts on the page so we could try to be the one to start a new page?

Sounds stressful, but still. Does anyone remember on the old UG when we used to count the posts on the page so we could try to be the one to start a new page? I remember other people doing that. Not so much me. Nice to see you, though!

Oh dear. My story has escalated way too quickly and I've just lost a character.
I might need to start over. >.<

Nah. Roll with it. See where it takes you. Take the adventure that your pen has brought you.
I am sorry about your character, though.

Plot twist: It was the protagonist.

I rolled with it. It might be better now than what I had in my head. Haha, no, not the protagonist. This is just the opening scene of the short story.

That's why I'm a plantser and not a planner. Well, that and I don't have the time or patience to make detailed plans, but y'know. What's this story about?

I think I've made the most of the situation with the affected character. It's a natural resolution to what I've set up in the earlier parts of the scene and it is a strong characteristic moment for my main character that will later be subverted with the main characteristic moment.
Haha, I'm a planner because I need to see how the diverse elements of my story fit together and move together as a coherent whole, and I need to understand the story in its theoretical form before I start writing. But little gems like the pacing and minor character arcs that I've discovered are solely in the realm of pantsing.
This story is a temporary diversion from my main project. I planned it as a short story but it may turn out to be a novella. It's about an old magician hunting down his worst enemy and best friend (same person) to ensure some finality to his life before he dies. In the writing of the first draft, I have also discovered some adorkable teenagers becoming disillusioned with the bitter reality of the world.

That's fair. I just need a general idea of where I'm going, though I'll admit that a little extra detail about how I'm getting there can be helpful. I'm also not a terribly theoretical person, though, which is probably part of it.
Oooooh. Sounds fascinating. I love that you're focusing on an older character instead of a younger one like most stories do.
