Hey guys! I was practicing different PS painting techniques and made up a render of Javez's helmet: WookieeElf Leilani Sunblade just in case you didn't quite have a face for him yet

That is an epic helmet. Your own design?

I love both of your paintings, Star! Although I hope I never see a cheetah's face that close in real life. And your Snape portrait... *sniff* Always.

*cough not late at all cough* Thanks guys (and I would love to see a cheetah's face that close up (without zoo bars or anything, out in the wild, maybe I have a death wish, 'cause I'd love to with a tiger as well)) And another one: messing around with indian ink:

Hey'a, all. Question for anyone who cares to answer: I don't draw, but I do graphic design/Photoshop stuff. Some people (my dad, mostly, and various internet articles I've looked up) say I should get a Wacom tablet or similar device if I'm going to be doing graphic design in school and/or professionally (which I will be, though I don't have any graphics-related classes my first year). Has anyone here used a Wacom tablet or similar? What do you think of it, if you have? Thanks in advance for the advice.

I use a Wacom bamboo from like 2011 and it's been the best investment of my money that I've ever made. I absolutely love it! I don't do digital art much because I love old fashioned pencil and paper, but my bamboo is amazing and it definitely makes the whole process much smoother. I don't do graphics though, I do more painter-ish style cartoons so I don't know what difference that makes. But I would say you definitely want one. Because they're amazing and I love mine to pieces. The only thing is make sure you keep track of your pen. Mine is fairly indestructible, but I keep misplacing it. DX Which is the main reason I don't use it a lot. Lol

jliessa44 : Thank you very much for that glowing review! I'm glad to hear you like the tablets, even if not necessarily for the same thing I'd be doing.

Leilani SunbladeWacoms are amazing. I use them for digital painting and vector illustrating alike. It os especially good for painting, as it is pressure sensitive and that is verrrrry useful for imitating different brushstrokes. Not cheap however

I've been wanting to by a Bamboo tablet myself, actually. My dad says it would be good for me. Now that I've built my funds back up after buying a car, I think I can do it.

NightBlade: Thank you for the recommendation! I don't think I'll be doing a ton of painting-type stuff, more graphics work, which is why I'm hesitant to get/ask for one. But like I said, there's a lot of people who say Wacoms are good for graphics too, so, yeah. Out of curiosity, what kind of Wacom do you have and how long have you had it?

I have a Wacom somethingeraather, which is the same as the bamboo (because I believe they don't call them the bamboo anymore). I can't say that I use it as much as I should, but I would say that it's still worth it. I did take a while just to research all of them what uses and strengths/weaknesses each had for what I wanted it for (mainly painting/drawing stuff) which is helpful as well.

NightBlade: Ah, got it. For whom are the ones in the lab available to use? Starsinger: Good to know. I think that figuring out which one I'd need is one of the other things that's intimidating about getting one . . . that and the price.

Mm true. I got mine for much cheaper than I'd expected because I caught it on a sale, and had free shipping (practically nowhere here has them in store and prices of the ones that do have are pretty horrendous).

Asked this in the chat thread, but thought I'd post it here now that I'm off work.
Does anyone know if an iPad pro and apple pen are worth the price of you want to use it for digital art? The iPad Air is soooooo much cheaper, but it doesn't used the pen and I don't want to get it and realize I need the pro instead. I want it for digital art.
