I don't personally know. There are some videos on YouTube comparing it to pencil and paper and the like, but I don't think I saw any comparing it to like the higher end Wacom drawing tablets.

I don't have anything good to say about apple products haha. I prefer PC tablets and Krita, which is basically free opensource photoshop

Soorrrry. Every other product I've had by other companies has been kinda cheap/junky compared to Apple. Even my kindle which I love isn't as good quality.

Soorrrry. Every other product I've had by other companies has been kinda cheap/junky compared to Apple. Even my kindle which I love isn't as good quality. Yeah, kindles are definitely cheaper. But for real tablets, the Microsoft Surface series is the top of the line; they're literally as powerful as PCs. And the Google Pixel is a step down but still definitely beefier than, say, the iPad Air 2. But I prefer Android because of having a bazillion and one customization options (being a design major after all). Used to use Apple, but I'm never going back

Androids break like crazy. Anyhow, I was asking about iPad pro and the pencil, not the air although I'm considering it too. (And EVERYTHING I've read has said the pencil is the best stylus....)

Break? Androids break? Daheck does that even mean? If you mean physically, I've never heard of that. Apple products are generally more fragile (comparing units by cost that is, at least for phones) and also far less tolerant to any sort of hardware or software modification. Apple pencil better than even Wacom tablets and preesure-sensor pens? I find that hard to believe. For Wacom, the pressure and tilt sensitivity, palm rejection, all old news, and of course price for the really nice high end ones than the iPad pro. Which seems to basically be the Apple version of Microsoft Surface?

Heh. I got an iPad Pro like... a month ago maybe, and I like it a lot. And as soon as I can manage it, I'm gonna get an Apple Pencil too. But since I just barely managed to get a case and a keyboard, I won't be able to get the pencil for a while.

*cough my mum's surface ha to be replaced three times within one year and she was only using it for work things cough*
And when apples break you can still use them at least, but Apples break less than other ones, as tested (not intentionally) by the builders my bro works with.
And I like apples cause they're easier to work with and don't pester you as much as androids. And apparently they're better for arty things than others.

Android breaks as in the phone starts to malfunction a month or two after you get it, constantly buggy and resetting, sometimes you can't even use it for calls. The systems aren't as good. Clearly though you don't want me getting Apple at all so it's getting to be kinda pointless since what I want is Apple. It is the version of Microsoft surface, I'm not saying it is a novel idea, I just want an apple and I'm wondering if the pro is worth the price difference between it and the air 2. Idk323. Ooh. Is it worth it? Does is work well with just your finger?

jliessa44 Hm... I've only messed around with it a couple of times, since I dislike actually using touch screens for the most part. But I guess it works okay with just my finger. Mainly the problem is I'm a perfectionist with no patience, so that's why I'm waiting until I can get the pencil. But I think it's worth it. My sister has an iPad Air but I wouldn't be able to tell you the differences between ours, other than I think the pencil only works with the pro.

*shrug* you do you. I guess there's plenty of testimonials and sob stories for both sides

In which case, if I already wanted a tablet and eventually a decent drawing one as well, and the Apple with the pencil looks to be good enough to do both, then I personally would go for to pro, because I prefer to only have to get something once. But probably if there was something else that looked to be better for drawing, then I'd go with the air.

Yeah. The more I think about it I'm thinking I'm going to get a pro. I've talked it over with my mom and it's a one time investment for something that I'll really enjoy and will (likely) need for my school. So I'm gonna go for it I think. Maybe after my next paycheck.

I did that with my laptop, which has also lasted longer than any of my sibs' first laptops. The one mistake I made was not going for one with more storage on it.

jliessa44 A teacher at the studio has a Surface pro and an iPad pro. He uses the pad and pencil for art, and the surface for everything else. He said the pad is good but lamented the cost (about 1200 for pad and pencil) A surface pro 4 costs about that much but it's widely reviewed as the best tablet pretty much ever, however not geared for art so probably won't do you much good in that venue

Okay. Thanks. Art is what I want it for vs writing or whatever other professional purposes. So I'm thinking I might as well take the plunge. For me it's "only" gonna be about 625 to get the pad 9.7in, 32GB with the pencil and a case.

Only 625? Wow, how/where? That's substantially better. I would even pay that much for a 'pad and pencil for my digital art

That's what I thought. XD Student pricing from Apple is like 800 for the tablet and pen, no case. So it's really a good deal.
I'm debating waiting to see holiday pricing though, if it drops.
