"Oh, that? It's not that big of a deal..." Steve thought back to the guard that got away... To the phone... Dang it. "Do you have any buddies with you that I can't see and are just waiting for the chance to fill me with bullets?"
((EDIT: Gotta go... See you guys tomorrow!))

Jack withdrew his Beretta. "Let's move. THis guy blows up stinkin buildings. I think Jenna is gonna want backup."

"Do you know how many people died back there?" Jenna didn't. But hopefully he wouldn't call her bluff. "And maybe I do." Another bluff she hoped he wouldn't call. "So maybe you should just stay where you are with your hands in the air and not do anything stupid."
Lydia nodded to Jack. "Thought so too. Glad you're coming. Now, let's go." She led the way out the door.

Anna followed Lydia out the door, adjusting her jacket as she went.

Jack hurried out to the car and hopped in. "Where is she?"

"Business district." Lydia named the street. "Thankfully, not too far away." She waited to make sure everyone was in before hitting the gas- well, as much as one could hit the gas in a parking garage, which was not very much.

((Yep, since there's only four of them now. Luke stayed behind, since I already have Lydia and Rachel going and Jenna on-site.)) ((Also, I probably won't have them get there until Alvar's posted again, jsyk.))

Anna slid into the backseat of the car, still fiddling with the ends of her sleeves as Lydia pulled out of the parking garage.

((I can't really do anything in this situation, 707))
I've gotta do something, fast. I'm pretty sure whoever this girl works for didn't come without some kind of backup.
"You don't sound too sure of yourself. How many people? Oh, I'd say about... Hey, what's that over there?" Steve asked, pointing to the open air behind her.
Let's hope this works...

((Sorry. >.<))
Jenna knew better. She really did. But nervousness got the better of her- who was to say this person didn't have backup already here?- and she glanced over her shoulder, just for a second.

Steve took the opportunity to use what little energy he had left to blast the gun out of the woman's hand. The fire wasn't very strong, but it was enough to burn her hands a little and make her drop the gun. Steve started running towards it.

Jenna yelped, dropping her weapon. Wincing at the pain in her hands- both of which had been burnt- she made a grab for the gun at the same time Steve did.

Steve saw her go for the gun. If she gets it again, I'll have no choice but to do what she says... Steve tried pushing Jenna away to ensure that he could grab the gun. He threw his arm out and felt his hand hit her shoulder, but it slid off awkwardly and only wound up making her stumble a little. Steve resorted to his only option, which was to kick the gun away.
((We can't really do much until the others show up, I'm guessing.))

((Eh. Kinda goes either way- I was letting a post or two go by, since the others wouldn't be able to get there immediately.))
Jenna hissed in aggravation as Steve kicked the gun, sending it skidding off the sidewalk and into the street. She didn't, however, dive after it again- that would provide too much opening for him to run. Instead, she stood her ground, tensed and ready to do whatever she could to stop him, and hoping he wouldn't notice as the gun slowly slid back towards them. -------- Lydia parked a block or two away from Jenna's location and climbed out. "Ok. Jack, you and I are forward. Be ready. Rachel, keep alert for anything odd, particularly any of this guy's friends showing up to get him. You and Anna should both stay back- you know the drill. Once we find him, one or both of you can go find the blown-up building and see if there's any survivors. Any questions?"

Anna looked around, zipping up her coat and sniffing slightly. "I smell smoke..." She murmured. "There!" She pointed down the road.

(Dangummit Jenna, of all the tricks...x)
Jack stepped out of the car and immediately headed towards the smoke and sirens. He pulled the slide of his pistol halfway-back to make sure there was a round in the chamber, then let it snap shut with a metallic click and picked up his pace to a light jog.

Steve thought about going after the gun, but decided that it was far enough away that Jenna couldn't use it against him. "So, what's it gonna be now? Do you wanna fight? Or are you going to let me go?" Steve knew he was out of time. If this girl had called for backup, they wouldn't be too far away by now. "I really don't feel like hitting a girl, so I hope you'll choose the latter."

"Gotta tell you somethin, Lydia." Jack said between breaths as he jogged closer. "I didn't pull the trigger on that girl right off the bat cuz I know that isn't how you guys do things. But this time, I don't think we can afford to hold back."

Anna stuck next to Rachel, her eyes darting over every possible hiding place in the area. She saw Jack fiddle with his gun and bit her lip. "If you guys need to shoot him, I can always heal him afterward," she said softly to Rachel, her breathing picking up slightly because of a rush of adrenaline. "If you need him for questioning and all that."

"Where's Detective Johnson?"
"Detective Johnson is dead. I'm serving as-"
"Did he drown too?"
Simon paused. He had heard the stories about Subject #4, he'd seen the men that he'd broken, the men who had given their name. How could he do it--How could one man break the will of seven of the finest agents in the world? A bead of sweat formed on Simon's forehead and he quickly wiped it away.
Don't let him see that your afraid, he wants you to be afraid.
"Mr. Frost, did you kill Lauren Hart on the night of August 24th?" He finally, choked out.
"What's your name?"
Simon wiped his forehead once more, staring down at the table, "Mr. Frost, did you kill Lauren Hart on the night of--"
"Tell me your name."
"J-just answer the question." Simon gripped the seat of his chair.
"No. What's your name?"
"I'm not telling you my name." The agent hissed between gritted teeth, glaring up at Subject #4, Silas Frost.
Frost cocked his head to the side. "Why not?"
Simon took a shaky breath, trying to muster a little courage, "I've seen what you do to people."
"Oh, you haven't seen anything. Not yet. Just, tell me your name."
"Not until you answer the question."
Silas gave a sigh, staring at the floor, absently, "I'm going to kill you, when the lights go out."
Simon frowned, "what?"
The lights went out. There was a scream, and a scramble of motion. And Detective Simon was dead. And Subject #4 was gone.
(( MUAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHA ))

Any time now . . . darnit, where are they? Jenna still held her ground. "I'm not going anywhere- but if you don't want to hit a girl, you're welcome to surrender. Would save me some trouble." ----------- Lydia nodded to Jack. "We'd prefer him alive. But do what you have to do."
"Good to know, thanks." Rachel mentally transmitted Anna's words to Lydia, who gave a tight nod to show she'd heard. Then she reached out to Jenna. We're close by- should reach you any moment.
Great. Hurry up.
They rounded the next corner- or Lydia and Jack did, anyway- and came out onto the street where Jenna and Alvar were.

And there's what I was worried about. Steve saw the two people come out, and knew he had a slim chance of getting away now. "Come to join the party?" Steve asked with a false smile.

Anna closed her eyes, trying to calm herself down. Its okay...Jack and Lydia have it under control...then you and Rachel can go see if anyone needs help...just keep breathing...

Jenna nodded. "This is him. What took you all so long?"
"Traffic. You know how it is." Lydia moved to the side so that, short of flying, Steve would have no easy way out. She addressed her next comment to him. 'You get one last chance to surrender; then people start shooting."

Well, this sucks. Not having much choice in the matter, Steve did as he was told. If only I had some energy left over... This is what I get for letting someone get away. "I suppose you're going to chain me up, throw me in some prison?" Steve asked.
