"We can go inside and I can give you the briefing on Leonard." Stephan glanced around. "Or we can go back to work on our . . . other problem." --------- Lydia stepped out of the car. "I hope the rest of us are invited as well?"

"Charlie," Fionn muttered, a scowl forming. "Yeah...we should probably try and find her. Hopefully, she hasn't switched powers yet..."

Stephan nodded. "Indeed . . ." His gaze wandered to the North building. "When she switches powers, does she truly steal the other's power? Or does she merely duplicate it?"

Fionn shook his head. "No duplication. When she steals someone's power, she keeps it until she steals another one, then the first power returns to whoever she stole it from."

"Let's go." Jack closed his door and started after the man. "And remember...no organization."
-------
After finishing her book, Annie took to roaming the local hall for a little while.

"Then we know she did not encounter Leonard, at least." That was encouraging, but there were others who had powers just as deadly. "Her trail led to the North, but then I was . . . distracted." ---------- Lydia nodded to Jack, following. Rachel climbed out as well, waiting for Anna to go first so she could take up the rear.

"Quite a lot of distractions around here..." Fionn sighed. "If she had stolen someone else's power, she'd have shown herself by now. She has a pretty big ego. So, that means she's lying low right now. Y'think you can pick the trail back up again?" ------- Anna climbed out of the car and quietly followed the others, keeping Champ in her arms so he didn't run off.

The trail led a ways into the woods until it thinned out into a clearing. A number of wooden and cinder-brick buildings, characteristic of normal American kid week camps. A couple fires in pits smoked lazily, with a few people around each one.

Stephan nodded. "I will do my best." ------ Lydia glanced around warily, but saw no signs of immediate danger. They're hiding; they won't want to draw attention to themselves . . . as long as we don't draw attention to ourselves either; we should be fine . . .

"Great," Fionn replied, smiling. "Good luck, buddy." ------ Anna glanced around the camp, relaxing a little. If they're all mutants...then we might have a chance against Death.

"Thank you." With a final nod, Stephan returned to the North building, near the place where the scent had gone up the wall. Shifting to hound, he once again put his nose to the ground. Charlie would've had to come to ground somewhere- either down the side of the building again or inside.

Charlie's trail kept twisting and turning and generally making no sense. She obviously didn't want to be found. ~~~ A little while later, Luka was back at the Main building, fixing his cap with a little smile on his face. Rhi warped up to Kiana's roof to see if her friend was there.

Stephan, nevertheless, kept following as quickly as he could. ~~~~~ Kiana was indeed there. She'd found herself some cord earlier and was now working on braiding three strands together so she could attach the phoenix feather and create a necklace where the feather would be safer than in her pocket. As soon as Rhi appeared, she dropped the cord, trying to subtly shove it beneath her pillow with an unreasonable feeling of secrecy. Not that she didn't trust Rhi, not that what she was doing was anything to be guilty about- but it was oddly private anyway. "Oh! Hi."

((Not entirely sure what to do with Charlie now...))
Rhi grinned, stuffing her hands in her pockets. "What's up?"

((Sorry . . . we can assume Stephan's following the trail without any particular events (occasionally getting pulled aside to do other guard stuff) until you're ready for something else to happen?))
Kiana shrugged. "Nothing really. So, you and Luka good now?"

The man leading the group headed towards one of the fires. Keeping his voice masked from overhearing, Jack whispered to Lydia, "That's Blackout...he worked with my father. I don't know if he's here too, though." The other faces around the fires, though, Jack didn't recognize.
-------
Annie turned around at the stairwell and wandered back down the other side of the hallway.

"Lovely," Lydia muttered back. "What are the odds he'll recognize you?" Or Rachel or I . . . She couldn't remember if they'd ever encountered Blackout personally. But if that organization had been keeping an eye on Jack . . .

((Yeah, that sounds good to me. Sorry, my brain isn't working today.))
"Yup!" Rhi sat down near Kiana's bed and crossed her legs under herself. "Took some explaining, but I think we're alright." ------- Anna kept quiet, and shushed Champ when he let out a tiny growl.

(( WookieeElf: 'Tis fine.)) "Right." Lydia facepalmed. "Sorry, I'm apparently still tired . . . What are the odds that we're in trouble, given who he is?" ------- "Good." Kiana sat back. "I hate to think I would've distracted them for nothing . . . scratch that, I wouldn't. It was fun."

"Probably not big, because we're all kind of in trouble these days... well, these guys at least. We've all done something wrong that we have to run from, but at least they're not trying to start a revolution or anything...apparently my father isn't in charge of anything anymore."

"Good to know." Lydia still didn't relax. "So. Be careful and we'll be fine?" --------- "Ehhhh . . . not too much." Kiana leaned back slightly, planting her hands on either side to balance herself. "Mostly he said that if we need to corner Luka again, we should just tell him and Stephan what's going on and not try to distract them . . . which would have advantages, come to think of it."
