Chazan glanced at the docks. "I doubt Zalwen would have given his true destination, but the other details worry me. Abokai cares nothing for Terrismen whether they're loyal to the Lord Ruler or no. He may well destroy every barge on the Imperial Canal until he has found him." He swivelled to face Jove. "Which Pewterarm are you referring to? I know about a Coinshot who has been interfering in my business. Fair spiderweb-like hair, evidently a noble, considered handsome by the terms of Khlenni women?"

He threw his head back in a hearty laugh. "That sounds like Ti. Bwa ha ha HA! How diverting. Are you not diverted, Mommy?" Ollin's scowl smacked him sober. "But anyway. I doubt this particular Pewterarm had anything to do with him. She seemed to be acting alone. Brown hair, dueling cane, faint scar."

"She. So not the same. I will remember that description." Chazan tilted his head. "You said Ti. If you have any information on the Coinshot, I want it. He seemed to know who I am." He glanced at Ollin. "Did you recognise him in the Linwhistle?" ((I have to say, when Ollin first described Jove to Chazan as very strong and very brave (and, as a mental aside, very stupid), I expected some variant of the stereotypical dumb brute. I'm glad my expectation has turned out wrong. I love the interactions between him and 'Mommy'. Please don't kill him off for a long time. ))

"I've never seen Ti's face before, although Jove talks about him on occasion. Something about a… drinking contest?" "My finest hour." Jove's eyes grew wistful. "Never before have I faced such a tenacious opponent. Down went the first pint. Down went the second. To my consternation, he reached for a third--" "Save it for later, child." "Ah. Forgive me. The point is, Master Terrisman, that Ti is a friend of mine. He drinks, writes, sells information."
((Lol. xD Oh dear. Now you're tempting me. I'm glad you like him though. :) I'd better head out for the night, but it's been fun. :) See you tomorrow!))

Chazan nodded to Ollin. "Ah, I see." He'd expected some connection with Ollin's past, but only a passing acquaintance on her son's part offered some information. He listened to Jove's explanation with some degree of chagrin. This threw a stumbling block in his plans to remove this Ti from his way. "Understand this, Master Jove. Tell your friend Ti absolutely nothing about me or who I really am, not even under the spell of drink. Nor anything about your mother's involvement in what I am doing. If you can provide more information about him, I am willing to pay you for that. What is Ti's full name?"
((See you next time! I've enjoyed this too. I'm finding that Chazan is moody and never misses a detail. He's a Type Jorus character.))

Maybe I'm wrong, but dressing up as an old man ("Where is that young lady?" xD ) doesn't seem like something Jorus would have done.)) "Tiberius Postumus Parse. And don't bother paying me, Master Terrisman, since we are both--" Jove paused. "Wait. Why do you want his full name?"

The Governor poured ruby-red wine into a tiny cup and pinched the hexagonal glass vessel between two fingers. "I also heard you used the people of Tathingdwen as an emotional distraction for the Feruchemist you fought."
Chazan forced an artificial smile. The truth was best in all circumstances. "Unfortunately, Master Jove, Parse has discovered something about the Phoenix Resistance and is threatening to take the information to the Steel Ministry unless I pay him. Should he carry out his threat, I intend to make his payment…posthumous."
(( XD Yes, that's right. Chazan is more witty and has a fiercer temper than Jorus. Still, the term Type Jorus is a fairly broad term. It doesn't necessarily mean they have the same traits beyond being moody and analytical.))

"I do not understand why you cannot simply pay him the requisite sum." ((Ah, okay, I see. :) That makes sense. There's a shade of Cald in Chazan as well. :) ))

Chazan scowled. "A man who earns his living through blackmail can just as easily carry out his threat as soon as he has the money in hand. Eliminating him from the equation is easier."
((Heheh. Cald is a Type Jorus character too. Not as much as Jorus and Chazan—he's got a thread of another type in him as well—but he is definitely a moody character.))

"Fool!" The Governor shot to his feet, his eyes ablaze with barely suppressed anger. "Those are my subjects you killed, Abokai! This is my reputation you have destroyed—mine and that of Tathingdwen! There were nobles among those people! How will the Lord Ruler react to the news that your destruction has caused widespread outcry among the nobles of the Terris Dominance? Do you know what this means for me, Abokai? Dismissal from my position, at best? And something that should concern you more deeply: Do you know what this means for you?"

((Haha, yeah, I've seen Moody Cald before. :P What's the other thread that you mentioned? Btw, it's Cosmere night, right?)) "But--" "Jove." Ollin clamped a hand on his arm. "That's enough. Do you want that Inquisitor to find us?" He scowled, pouting. "Maybe I do."

((Yes, Cosmere night, though I'm getting off now. I've had enough RPing for now with CaC2. And for Cald's other thread, I'm not sure what it is. I'm thinking of writing an article about my usual character types in an effort to broaden the range of characterisation I use.))
Chazan snorted. "What is more important to you, Jove? The life of one disreputable friend, or your own?"

The life of one disreputable friend, or your own?" "My friend's of course! I would take a knife for Ti. Two knives, in fact. Straight to the heart." He raised a fist to punctuate this impressive statement. "Any man who would choose otherwise is no man at all." "Jove dear." Ollin laid a hand on his shoulder. "Please be reasonable." "Mommy, this man is asking me to betray a beloved shieldmate!" "Are you really that close, child?" "We are brothers." "I thought you just drank together on occasion." "Well…" "Besides. I thought you wanted to help me. This isn't very helpful." "I suppose not. O, cursed quandary! Forced to choose between my Mommy and my shieldmate." He hung his head. "Very well, Terrisman. You have my discretion." ((Ah, alright. :) Sounds like an interesting article. Let me know if you write it.))

(( He's a mistborn, isn't he? >.< ))
A long, brittle silence. Then, Abokai leaned in, laying his hand on the table.
"Governor," he said in a whisper, lantern light flickering off of his steel-tipped eyes, "I do not care."
Then in a whirl of motion, he turned to the door.

(( gamemastergrimwarden: Of course.)) The Governor watched the Steel Inquisitor leave, his eyes bright and dangerous. He spoke to the creature's back. "Abokai. If I discover you have been using the same tactics again—if I find you have been killing my subjects to satisfy your whims—I will introduce the Lord Ruler to the equation."
(( Lylyss: I wrote it.)) "Thank you, Master Jove." Chazan turned to Ollin. "Zalwen will have made arrangements, Ollin. Based on what I know of him, I would expect him to have bought a barge, hired a Misting crew to protect him, and arranged for Mistborn and Feruchemists to follow him on either side of the canals. I do not expect he will have any trouble in reaching his destination."

((Hrrm. I never really specified what Zalwen's destination was, but going to Luthadel fits with his investigations. He'll be there soon. Let's see… Lylyss, can I make a Coinshot son of Ollin? )) The Governor laid the bloodied iron ball on the table, dipped a quill pen in an inkwell, and began to write.
Gali marched into the Linwhistle Hotel by the front door, her duelling cane sheathed in a leather hoop on her belt and swinging at her side. It hadn't been hard to find the new obligators in Tathingdwen. The skaa had already begun to circulate news of new members of the Steel Ministry in the city. After all, it affected all of them…the obligators could call on the Steel Inquisitors.

Chazan rubbed his chin. "What do you suggest? My responsibilities tend to keep me here in Tathingdwen most of the time, but I'm sure I could dredge up a suitable excuse to leave the city."

((Check my edit. ;) ))

Mandible and Iphus would be within hearing distance, of course, just in case things got out of hand. ____________ "I don't know. Leaving the city..." "Oh, come on, Mommy." Jove grinned at the prospect. "Why not?" "It's safe here, and I've got a job--" "An odious job." "Yes, but--" "Let us quit this hateful place and fix our eyes on the smiling horizon!" Ollin scowled. Truth be told, she wasn't sure how her body would cope on a journey. But if this is the only way to save Zalwen, then so be it. "Don't get the wrong idea, Jove. If we have to go anywhere, I would suggest following Zalwen or Abokai, which will hardly be a pleasant experience."
