I could easily get behind all of these plot lines, but I can't promise I won't quote any musicals related to certain times. XP The Chicago one sounds fun. I recently did a paper on Al Capone, so maybe I could get into the gangster role...

I probably won't be joining- historical battles aren't my thing- but this sounds like it'll be fun to read.

Can I make the UG Awards thread, where we hand out awards to members/threads for certain things? (Basically the Oscars for the UG, i.e. longest running thread, biggest battle in a battle thread, mosts posts by a single member, etc)

Unless Liessa says otherwise, yes.

Hey, Could I start a post apocalypse themed battle thread if that isn't already a thing? If it is, where can I find it?

We have a dystopian battle thread already, which is somewhat similar- there's a plot going there, but you could easily start a second plot alongside it.

Just saying - we don't have the technical limitation on the number of threads now that we're hosted by ProBoards, so there isn't that reason for keeping two plots on the same thread. I know that personally, I would prefer to have one plot per thread just to make it easier for new people joining or for people catching up on the plot. If one plot dies, then you could move it to a RIP RP (hehe) subforum if you want to get it out of the way. I'm not going to join the RP, so it really doesn't affect me at all, but that was just my thoughts. But hey, up to you, Sentinels.

Jag Starblade: You make a good point. However, I would argue that there's also value in not making a new thread for every new plot, particularly if two plots are related in genre, theme, or similar (for example, we have one superheroes thread, which is sufficient for both the ongoing superhero-type plots). In this case, given that dystopian and post-apocalyptic are not necessarily the same genre (though they are, to my understanding, similar), I suppose that whether to create a new thread or just put the plot on the dystopian thread is up to Derago and the members of the existing thread.

Leilani Sunblade: What value do you see in keeping both plots on the same thread? The only benefit I can see would be that each RP gains more exposure - players on one might be more likely to jump across to the other as well. However, if someone's only interested in one of them, I think it could possibly become annoying having a second plot there. I think that'd affect any RP threads with multiple plots, whether or not they are related. But hey, it's just a minor thing, and like I said, it's really not going to affect me in any way. Just thought I'd let you know what my reaction was to show another way of thinking about it.

And I was gonna go for more of a Fallout style than dystopian. Should have said that earlier.

So would that warrant a separate thread? I kinda wanted specific rules for it too as far as the combat went.

I see no point in making separate threads for plots. As I've said before, the role plays we have keep dying. It makes no sense to keep making more and cluttering things.
That being said I'll see what Leilani and I can come up with.

Jag Starblade: As you said, it might attract more interest between the plots. or, if basically the same people are involved in multiple plots, it's one less thread to check. And it keeps threads on the front page, so people can potentially see it and think either "Oh, hey, I was in that thread; I should double-check to see if there's anything I need to reply to" or "Oh, hey, that looks like a cool thread; I'll check it out." And, as Liessa said, it helps keep the site cleaner. @derago: I am not familiar with Fallout, I'm afraid. Is it a video game or something? As far as combat rules for your particular plot, there would be no reason you couldn't specify those things as long as you make sure the people involved are ok with it.

Yes, it's a video game. Is it ok to use the Dystopian thread?

I'm fine with it if the other people on that thread are fine with it.
