Hey, Leilani! I'm doing good. How are you? (sorry I took so long to answer)

I'm doing fine. Trying to figure out why iTunes is being annoying and mildly annoyed at myself for procrastinating on certain things. Unfortunately, I can't stay on any longer tonight. Namarie, and I shall hopefully see you tomorrow/soon.

The problem with the shoutbox is that messages aren't archived/saved. (As far as I can tell.)

@leilani: Well, this most recent part has undergone a bit of revision in my planning because of ideas you gave me indirectly, and I've also been working on the OYAN principle of widening the gap. As in, the character expects two choices: either this one will happen, or that one will happen—and then you give the character that other one over there. If that's a bit too theoretical, I'll explain in more detail after I've successfully widened the gap on CaC2. I think that specific book would be more resonant with you because your characters helped to shape it. I'll send you a signed advance copy. Me to Liel (my main character): "Sorry for leaving your story at the part where the monster charges. I'll get back to you and your emergency on Friday."

Dmitri Pendragon: Interesting. I think I get what you're saying, though I'm not familiar with widening the gap. I can think of several times so far when you've done the "third choice" thing. Ooh, awesomesauce. Thank you. Haha. xD Your poor character . . . at least he (she? I can't tell from the name) knows when you're getting back to her . . . poor Pansy in my story doesn't.

Leilani Sunblade: Which parts can you think of? On CaC2, the place that comes to mind first is Helm's first appearance, where he stops Harn and frees Ver, then persuades Harn to hunt down Uradan Jorq. I think readers would have expected him to either free Ver or join Harn. But, anyway, what "third choice" situations were you thinking of? Liel is a boy, yes. (I almost wrote "aye" instead of "yes". That's the affirmative term I'm using in The Teller's Apprentice.) And I discovered that I could actually get back to him today…I was going to do administration and any editing work that came to me today, but it turns out that administration (writing blog posts, doing secretary work for our speaking club, marking off things on my to-do list) only took up the morning. So I got a good bit of The Teller's Apprentice done.

Hmm . . . I actually wasn't thinking of that. I was thinking most about when Elius showed up in the Temple of Jahn. I was expecting that either the characters would find Jorq or Jorq would find them . . . I didn't think someone else would show up. And again during the confrontation with Elius- when he said he had a proposition, I figured that either Ver would shut him down so many times that he was like "Fine. Don't want to talk to me, guess I'll get serious about taking you out now" and start using Decimation or that Ver would eventually say "Fine, stop bugging me and just tell me what you want" and he'd say something along the lines of either "Join me and blah blah blah" or "Depart in peace now and you may keep your life, even tell the Jedi of this place and return with a greater force". I didn't expect the offer of single combat, or the arrival of Elius's minions.
Ok. (Heh. I use aye somewhat frequently online, even without using it all that much in my books.) And that's good; I'm sure he appreciated that. xD Has he escaped the monster yet?

I think so too. Or we should at least get to boss people around. Dream team of captains. *holds out hand for a fistbump*

Lol. Sounds good to me! Though, we can't be in complete control since the administrators all have one more star than we do... *Whispers* Maybe we should plan to over throw them and take over White Hall...
Yes! *Fist bumps*

*gasps* Katrina! *grins* Great plan. I propose we take down Jliessa first. She's the mastermind.

*Nods* Mmhm. My thoughts exactly! I'm pretty sure if we don't take care of her first, she'll ruin all our plans.

I suggest we lay out a bait for her. Besides torturing characters, what attracts JJ?

Ooh... Um... *Thinks hard* Hmm... Not entirely sure. You have any ideas?

*taps chin* I'll scream, and she's sure to come to watch me die, not to help me. So that should work.

XD Sooo... That's when I come in and... Tie her up? Lock her in a closet?

Strap dynamite to her. That should work, right?

Mmm... Well, if we're going to that extreme, we may want to kidnap her characters first, just in case. We wouldn't want anything to happen to them. I mean, who knows what JL will do if she's cornered.

*Looks confused* Uhh... Oh. Well... *Looks around* I guess I'm stuck with Audri then? I guess that's okay, seeing as I have henchmen. *Pushes Bryin in front of her*

*chuckles and pats Bryin's shoulder* Don't scream too much. It encourages her.

Bryin: *Crosses his arms* Whoa, whoa, whoa. Why would I help either of you? I hate authors. Plus, Audri will kill me, and it all just sounds like too much work.

You have to. Either JJ gets the dynamite or you buddywink.

Bryin: *Huffs* Are all authors this mean? I thought it was just mine... *Shakes his head* I'm still not helping.
Me: *Casually passes Bryin a bag of gummy bears*
Bryin: *Frowns at the gummy bears, not able to resist them* Ugh! Fine, but I think I should be able to make conditions first!

Bryin: Hey! You don't get to have anything until you hear my demands first! They're very important, and if you don't agree then I'm not helping.
Me: Ehh... I don't think this is going to turn out well...

Bryin: *Looks conflicted for a second, then glares* Well if I have to go away then you don't have anyone to help you...
Me: I'm pretty sure between the two of us, Eru and I have lots of other characters we could replace you with.
