This is the thread for all adventures taking place in the realms of Brandon Sanderson's Cosmere. Be warned that it may or may not include spoilers, depending on the time period of the various subplots, and high levels of awesome. If you need information regarding aspects of the Cosmere worlds, I recommend checking out the Coppermind, a wikia of Sanderson's books. I'm going to try to keep this first post updated with what characters and subplots are currently active in what Shardworld. Time will tell if I'll be able to keep up with it. Edit: For information on characters and subplots, go to the Archives of Copper, a blog/database for this roleplay maintained by Dmitri Pendragon . Further Edit: Table of Contents:
The Phoenix Resistance- pg. 1 Spren and Shardblades- pg. 11The Atium Scam- pg. 14Table of contents last updated: 5/7/16

((Gah…I'm torn between two extremes. One half of me wants to finish with CaC2 and be done with role-plays, but my other half really wants to join this particular adventure thread. For now, I'm going to go with one character. My idea for a Scadrial adventure is where a group of rogue Keepers attempt to free the Terris Dominance from the Lord Ruler, occurring sometime in the thousand years of the Final Empire. I have a profile for the leader of the rogue Keepers, who is the steward of the Terris Dominance's governor. I don't want to control the governor, and I have nothing established for him. He doesn't even have to be a major villain, because he might get assassinated pretty early on. Anyone else interested in this idea?))

I probably won't join in on a Mistborn thing until I've had the chance to read the books. Anyone who is game for a Reckoners or a Stormlight Archives adventure, I'd join in!

Just when I thought I'd exhausted my resources for good books... (wishing I had known about this when I was at the library yesterday...)
Which of the books should I read first?

(( Kirenyth Fireblade Fireblade: The question probably should've gone on the Reading Ideas thread, as this is a battle/adventure thread. However, I recommend starting with the Mistborn trilogy, the first book of which is The Final Empire. You could also start with Steelheart, which isn't in the Cosmere but is awesome. Both do an excellent job of showcasing the mind-blowing amazingness of Sanderson's writing, without being as daunting as the Stormlight Archive, the books in which are about 1000-ish (amazing) pages each.))

((Thanks! I'd like to be a part of this, I just wasn't sure where to start reading. I would've started on CaC2, but it had already gotten pretty far and it got a little confusing trying to trace the story to find where I could slip in some characters...))

((Heh. Yeah. I can understand that. On CaC2, though, I'd suggest just asking if there's anywhere you can easily join in. New subplots start up semi-often, so it's usually not too hard to jump into one of those.))

((This is my character. I may not start using him for a while, though. I'm busy…very busy.))
Name: Chazan Pronunciation: cha-ZAAN Age: 30 Gender: Male Position: Rogue Keeper Race/Nationality: Terrisman Appearance: Tall and clean-shaven, with dark skin and deep brown eyes. Broad-shouldered and well-built. Wears rings in his very large ears and arrow-shaped robes, disguising himself as a Terris steward. Armour: Occasionally wears steel armour laced with pewter, all of which is a metalmind to increase his physical speed and strength. Weapons: Feruchemical powers and a few hidden daggers in his robes. Personality: Hot-tempered and impetuous. Loves his country and his people very deeply and, above all, desires their freedom from the Lord Ruler. Abilities: Very cunning, able to disguise himself, his volatile nature, and his Feruchemical powers by acting as a docile steward to the High Prelan obligator in the Terris Dominance. A powerful Feruchemist with a large reserve of metalminds. Tactical and strategic, although his temper often clouds his judgement. Weaknesses: Too impetuous for the Synod’s liking, a trait which has often got him into trouble. A rogue Keeper known well among the secret Feruchemists. History: Chazan escaped the Terris breeding programmes and was trained by a Terris steward Keeper. Now as the steward of the Terris Dominance’s governor, Chazan is secretly attempting to organise a rebellion of the Terris people alongside a sect of rogue Keepers. His position as the governor’s steward comes in handy, as he is able to listen in on many secret conversations. Other: Chazan has a wife and a young son, who live further south of the Terris Dominance, off the map of the Final Empire.

Hands folded into his sleeves, hood up. Sandaled feet. The distinctive arrow-shaped robes of a Terris Steward. This was how he walked. How he was in the world, but not with the world. The Terrismen and Terriswomen of Tathingdwen knew to keep their distance. After all, they said, in whispers they assumed to be beyond his hearing, that he was the Steward of the Governor of Terris. Master Vaht Chazan. All a farce. Inside, he was a rebel. A freedom fighter. An assassin, if needs be, though he'd never assassinated anyone. Too distasteful. Too many irreversible stains. Assassination stole more than just a target's life. It stole the assassin's innocence. Chazan paused in the centre of the marketplace. He closed his eyes and tapped two metalminds: tin and zinc. Listening with enhanced senses. Unraveling the surge of conversation with increased mental speed. He soon caught wind of the reason he'd come, the reason he'd dared the Governor's wrath in leaving without permission. Two middle-aged women gossiped in whispers. "…stranger in Tathingdwen…" "…staying at the Linwhistle Hotel…" Chazan released his metalminds and set off for the Crook, the street on which the Linwhistle Hotel sat. Hopefully the stranger in Tathingdwen could help him.
((Open for anyone to create Chazan's contact.))

Chazan took the long way to the Linwhistle Hotel. He knew a shorter approach through the alleys, of course, but in this guise he was the steward of the Governor's household. He couldn't afford to arouse suspicion by taking a route uncharacteristic of men of authority. So he took the long way. On the Crook, a beggar bumped into him. Instinctively, Chazan tapped pewter and iron, solidifying and strengthening himself, and stepped back. Glaring. The beggar ducked his head. He wore scruffy black clothes, and locks of his hair had whitened, although he didn't look all that old. "Pardon, pardon me, Steward." He flinched, although he wasn't looking at Chazan. "Please—please forgive me." Chazan released the metalminds and schooled his face to reflect indignation. "I could have you strung and quartered for this, beggar." The beggar glanced up at him. Keen blue eyes gleamed in a browned Terris face. Chazan squinted. Yet the eyes were wrong. Khlenni eyes. Had— "The mists gave it to me," said the beggar. He turned and disappeared into the crowd. "The—" Chazan stared after the beggar. "The what? The mists?" His eyes? But the beggar couldn't read his thoughts, and he'd said it, not them. Bad theory. "Gave what to you?" He wasn't used to being flustered. What had possessed the beggar to say that? Was he crazy? Crazy. Yes, that was it. Tathingdwen had enough crazy people. Chazan filled his zincmind, intentionally slowing his mind, and forced the event from his mind. He had another stranger to speak with, one who—hopefully—wouldn't be as crazy as the beggar. ((EDIT: This is from the Crafty Games Mistborn Adventure Game: www.crafty-games.com/files/File/CFG7003-Terris_Wrought_of_Copper-Preview-Terris_Resistance.pdf It's very similar to how I imagine Chazan's group of rogue Keepers. (( Dmitri Pendragon: Coolness. Your last link's broken, though I think I've seen the site and downloaded a bunch of stuff from it. Also, was that Hoid? Because I think it was Hoid.)) ((Also: would Terrismen outside of the Dominance know anything of Chazan's intentions? My thought was to have two characters- a Terrisman from outside the Dominance who'd heard of Chazan's plan, and the Terrisman's master, a Misting of some sort with connections that could help the Terris rebellion.))

((In answer to your question, I don't think many Terrismen would know Chazan in particular is a resistance member, but he and the other rogue Keepers will have quite a few contacts. So Chazan might have briefly met your Terrisman in the past.)) ((As for the Stormlight Archive, I might join a plot on Roshar. I've finished The Way of Kings, and I hope to start Words of Radiance either today or tomorrow. Been too busy recently, but it's the weekend now.)) ((Hmm…I think we need a few more villains. I'll make a Steel Inquisitor. Or some other Hemalurgically-spiked creation of the Lord Ruler.))

((I've been thinking about this battle thread for a while, and I've come to the conclusion that I don't want Chazan to lead an all-out attempt to retake the Terris Dominance. It's too hard and too time-consuming leading an intense subplot. Instead, I would like to play a smaller scale plot in Scadrial. Dangerous but short missions, a bit like Kara and Kayma on CaC2, where all the players lead instead of just me like in the Temple of Jahn subplot. Gathering supplies by attacking barges, fighting a few petty nobles outside of Tathingdwen, perhaps rescuing young Feruchemists from the Lord Ruler's program. Perhaps each player could make heroes and villains and work alongside and against each other. Thoughts?))

((I thought I said this ages ago, but I'd be on board with the pre-Stormlight Archives Knights Radiant plot.)) (( Dmitri Pendragon Pendragon: Sounds good to me, and also less intimidating than the previously-planned plot. More resistance than rebellion- I like that. Of course, I still need to get my character up . . . you're still keeping Chazan as the leader of the resistance, I assume? And would your earlier post about his looking for allies still apply?))

(( Leilani Sunblade: Chazan will be the leader of a small cell of rogue Feruchemists and other rebels, and he's somewhat high-ranked in the Terris Resistance, but he's not the ultimate leader. And yes, he's still looking for allies. New character! This one a villain. Name: Gali Dalmeaux Pronunciation: GAL-lee dal-MAW Age: 21 Gender: Female Position: Mercenary/Misting-for-hire/petty noblewoman Race/Nationality: Human Noble (Northern Dominance) Appearance: Gali is average height and lean with light brown hair usually gathered into a ponytail. A barely visible scar runs horizontally beneath her left eye. Gali’s eyes are brown, flecked with gold, and radiate perpetual suspicion. Armour: No armour. Weapons: A duelling cane of fire-hardened wood, black in colour. Personality: Suspicious and analytical. Prefers to work alone and resents being forced into teamwork situations. Abilities: Gali is a Pewterarm, born with the ability to burn pewter and greatly increase her physical strength. She is proficient with her duelling cane and can hold her own even without burning pewter to enhance her strength and resistance to pain. Weaknesses: Flaws in her emotional fortitude, which Gali takes care to suppress and conceal. History: Gali was born in the Northern Dominance to a family of minor nobles, but she has been to every one of the Dominances in search of work. She is currently unemployed and looking for work in the Terris Dominance. Other: To be revealed.)) ((EDIT: I made a site for Cosmere Adventures. archivesofcopper.blogspot.com Primarily for the purpose of recording profiles so I don't have to flip through pages to find weaknesses and weapons and suchlike. Leilani Sunblade: I know you said you'd try to keep the first post updated with something like this, and I'm not trying to take over that. I think a blog would work better for storing complete profiles, since your first post would get quite long with all the profiles.)) ((EDIT EDIT: I have a profile for a Knight Radiant, but I'm not going to post it here yet. I'll see how I can manage my time with two characters before starting a new subplot.))
