((I'm way late, but here's something? ))
Name- Brett Hart General attributes- Male, 20 yrs Role- Scout/jack of all trades Appearance- Short, tan/medium skin tone, dark brown-black hair, pale brown eyes. Clothes/armor-Army green cargos, practical utility belt, gray t-shirt, black bomber jacket and combat boots are his standard uniform. Weapons/equipment- Various small tools, a heavy staff that can separate into two halves, lock picks on the off chance they're needed, binoculars, and a pocket knife. Skills- martial arts, tumbling, stealth (when it's important anyway), magic/card tricks, forgery, cooking, sewing, and the very useful skill of sarcasm. He can also do various other odd jobs if needed. Weakness- Can't swim, moderate/semi-severe anxiety that he tries to hide, highly competitive, gets tunnel vision. Personality- Loud and obnoxiously cheerful 90% of the time. Despite being rather friendly, he also tends to keep others at a distance and doesn't talk much about himself. But when it comes down it, he can be serious for as long as needed and often becomes hyper focused on a particularly difficult task. History- not really sure to be honest. He's spent time in the circus, as a burglar, doing odd jobs, dunno. He's just kinda a vagabond I suppose. I don't really have much in mind for his history.

(( Leilani Sunblade: I've been considering it and haven't quite decided yet. I've written down initial thoughts for a few characters, but none of them are ready at this point. I think I'll give a tentative yes, and I'll try to put up characters by the end of the week. Will that be all right? Do you know when NB plans to get back?))

((Name: Serafina Affiliation: Master Force Occupation: Soldier (low-powered villain) Appearance: Female, superhuman, aged 30. Serafina is short and athletic with black hair cropped at jaw length, stark green eyes and black lipstick. She wears practical clothing of durable material, usually a dark shirt and trousers with tall leather boots and a leather vest. She has blue wind insignias on her cheekbones. Personality: Hard, focused, practical, no-nonsense. Has a job to do and intends to see it through to its end. Ruthless. Powers: Serafina is a chance manipulator. Her powers enable her to attach auras of good luck or bad luck to people, places or objects (“focuses”). Negative auras cause focuses to underperform, malfunction or even self-destruct, while positive auras cause focuses to perform better than usual or achieve acts of improbability. Positive auras appear as faint pink glows bleaching to gold around the edges, and negative auras are pale red deepening to blue at the edges. Serafina is perpetually protected by two auras, one positive, one negative. The positive aura is attached to herself and gives her a preternatural level of success. The negative aura drifts outside her positive aura and attaches to objects that enter its focus. Degree of power-related disclosure: This is for the information specialists. All information included in this profile, including Serafina’s powers, is semi-common knowledge. What the different colours of auras do is observable information, and photos of the glows around Serafina herself have been photographed. Not that photos of auras come out particularly well, because the glows are quite faint. Serafina’s superhuman-related weakness is not known. Weapons/Equipment: Serafina carries a rifle and two handguns. When appropriate she rides a motorbike. Abilities/Skills/Weaknesses: Excellent shot, quick to fire, alert and suspicious. Background/History: To be developed. I imagine Serafina as a subordinate of Vane Tarrel. Name: Thrasher Williams Affiliation: Resistance Occupation: Sniper and frontline resistance soldier Appearance: Male, human, mid-30s. Thrasher is average height and sturdy with dark skin and crewcut black hair. His preferred plainclothes wear is unobtrusive clothing in dull hues. Personality: Sour, dour, low attachment to people, pessimistic, slightly bitter. Weapons/Equipment: Thrasher owns a number of big guns such as machine guns and submachine guns and drives a big blue pickup with a canopy. The contents of the canopy are undisclosed, but Thrasher is known to keep some of his guns in there. He is equipped with a secure radio tuned into the resistance network. Abilities/Skills/Weaknesses: Good with guns, bad with people. History: To be developed. I have a tentative idea for a minor character (a resistance intelligence agent and possibly team leader, but I'm cautious about overcommitting (Doing another CaC2. ) and the idea's not fully formed.))

(Eyyyyy I'm liking how this is looking. I hope we can all get enough committment to start some synergy! I for one am not worrried about over committing so here's another character (kind of on the fence as far as alignment but I imagine her working with the good guys) and I'm working on a third) (In the meantime, Leilani Sunblade give us a set up post an I'll jump right in with both my guys. As for a good guy team leader, I don't know if that's neccessary with this few people. I bet we can get by with a cooperative peer relationship. That way no one has to front the effort if we're all feeling kind of noncommittal) -Name: Vanessa Sable -Gender, Age, Nationality: Female, 19, American (cauc) -Appearance: Vanessa obviously claims the gothic theme, with black nails and clothes to match her naturally jet-black hair. Her face could be described as boyish, but with nice brown doe eyes and is pretty enough. However, she has always been unhealthily obsessed with her weight and appearance and such. The years have turned her into a skinny, startlingly decorated mess of black and white with a myriad of piercings and studs across her narrow fox-face. Typically wears shirts with an excessive amount of lace, slashed black pants or high shorts and a long jacket with tall lace-up boots. -Powers/Abilities: Vanessa's powers are largely focused on evasion and deception. She can visually (but not physically) take the appearance of another person that she can currently see, or of a person whose appearance she is familiar with by memory. She can likewise project an illusory object of things/people into an area in her line of sight and maintain it with concentration; however for her to move it, the illusion must remain in her L.O.S. She can also use these abilities to render herself invisible to the naked eye (that is, without infrared or other means) as long as she can maintain her concentration. Then she must hold still to stay invisible indefinitely, or she becomes gradually more visible the more she moves after breaking focus. Finally, she has the ability to "jump" from one area of shadow that she can see to another. For example, from the darkness of one alley to the dark alley across the street. This ability consumes energy relative to the distance she travels, and the "darkness" of the shadow; less darkness requires more energy to teleport to and from. -Skills/Weaknesses: As Vanessa's powers are centered around the incorporeal, her fallbacks are physical and equally potent. While many supers have an accelerated healing factor, hers is essentially the opposite. Any cut or puncture injury she sustains will gradually grow worse until she stops and it is tended to, or becomes incapacitated. -Weapons/Equipment: She only has a small pocketknife, not being at all skilled (or very comfortable) with weapons since she always got out of problems with her powers. -Personality: Vanessa definitely looks like the rough devil-may-care sort, but the exterior is only an inch thick. She is usually quite amiable, and will try to get along with most people in a passive, introverted sort of way. She is, however, very prone to emotional responses and can get rather grudgy. Often struggles with her identity as a 'good' or 'bad' aligned person, and can swing either way.

((Cool beans, Nightblade! One comment on Vanessa; most supers in this setting will tend towards the villainous side. But if she's more borderline good/bad, it could work.)) ((I'll work on an intro post; might take me a few days since we just moved and we want to get as much painting and repair stuff done before our stuff is delivered.))

((She could be "lawful bad" and just like have rules/lines she won't cross but still be only out for herself. Which would fit with the bad/good borderline thing. ))
((As for leader/no leader. Could be a situation where most things are decided/agreed upon as a group, but in the heat of the moment/battle they have someone to take charge and make decisions for convenience sake. ETA- Not that I think someone has to be in charge at all, just throwing ideas out. ))

((So much for getting this up before classes start. Sorry, y'all. I'd offer excuses, but y'all don't want to hear them, and I'd rather just write this post.))
Eon's finger shifted to the trigger. "You should know that's not how I work, Force. When time kills you, you see it coming and you can't stop it. But for you, I had to take . . . precautions."
"So I noticed. But, then, so did I." Master Force pulled a pistol from under his jacket, took aim, and pulled the trigger all in one smooth motion. Two shots rang out at once as the air shimmered around Eon.
Mira glanced away from the screen to jot down more notes. Hacking into the database that housed the feeds from Master Force's security cameras had taken her ages- but it was clearly worth it. No wonder Master Force's guards had been so on edge the last couple days! A rebellion, among the supervillain's own forces! Mira doubted that Master Force had totally stamped it out yet.
Soldiers ran down the hall from both ends to converge on the pair of supers as water rained from the sprinklers in the ceiling. Master Force pressed a hand to his wounded soldier as his body turned to vapor. "I trusted you, Eon, and this is how you repay me?"
"You never trust anyone, Force. And I had good reasons." Eon turned her pistol on the approaching soldiers not on her side. Time bubbles popped up around her and then burst, allowing her to evade the soldiers' bullets as she emptied her own magazine in their ranks. Then they were upon her, and her soldiers upon them- but though soldier met soldier without hesitation, all shied away from Eon's touch. Those too slow to escape her hands withered away as if living through decades in the space of a second and finally fell dead.
Master Force floated through the melee without concern for who or what he drifted through. "True. And you've just proven why." He ghosted behind Eon as she sped another soldier to the end of his life and casually lifted his vaporous arm so it poked through her chest. Then, with no warning, he became physical once again.
Mira cringed. She'd seen Master Force kill like that before, but that didn't make it any easier- nor did the way he carelessly turned back to vapor to pull his arm out, then become solid once more to send rebel soldiers flying into each other or down the hall or wherever he happened to send them. That explains why no one's seen Eon in a few days. It's a wonder Force didn't make some speech about what happens to those who rebel against him or something. Then again, he probably didn't want the populace to know that his own forces had turned against him. Too bad for him.
As the battle wound down, she X'ed out of the window and shut her laptop. Then she pulled out her radio-phone to message the rest of the crew. "Everyone, I found something big. Something that'll give us a chance. Meet in the main room as soon as possible to discuss. Over." Shoving her phone back in her pocket, she headed towards the main room of the hideout. They had info. Now they needed a plan.
----------------- Meanwhile, at Master Force's HQ, Vane Tarrell received a message summoning him to meet with Master Force. No further information was provided; either Master Force didn't want others who might see the message to know what he wanted of Tarrell . . . or he didn't want Tarrell to know.

((what kind of a place is this? Like run down post apocalyptic kinda stuff? Just trying to decide what to write, but I don't want to take over if I'm picturing something different. )) ((That is an excellent question that I should've thought of sooner. Um. Semi-run-down, but not quite post-apocalyptic levels. Probably a more industrial type area. Was a sketchy part of town; still would be one except that most of the people who lived there saw their chance and took it when MF took over and upset the order of things. Does that help?))

((Yeah I think that helps. is this like an abandoned factory/government owned building of some kind like a school or library? I know I'm following Nightblade and Leilani on Pinterest. Are you on Pinterest Dmitri Pendragon? I could set up a board for us to share if you all think that's worth it? I was just looking up images for myself and thought of it. )) Brett jogged to the main room. The two baton halves of his staff thumped against his thigh comfortingly. Whatever happened, at least he was armed. Mira had said it was good news anyway, nothing to worry about. Until they started making plans and putting them into action. One step at a time, he reminded himself. Everything was going well, and for once they had good news. He reached the main room and jogged straight for a formerly plush armchair and vaulted over the back to lounge almost comfortably. The stuffing that hadn't spilled out from the gouges in the fabric clumped up in odd bunches behind his back and the seat had an odd dip, but minor inconveniences all things considered. Now he just had to wait. One leg jogging up and down in place, he looked around the room.

Thrasher's voice crackled through Mira's radio phone. "Can it wait? I got a dronecam out and about and it doesn't trace automatically."

((Pinterest is fun. But also addictive, if you're not careful.))
Mira nodded to Brett as he entered. She'd already claimed her usual seat, a somewhat wobbly chair with an equally wobbly table next to it so she could set up her computer where the others could see it if necessary. At Thrasher's call, she stopped hooking up her laptop to the larger monitor she'd scrounged up several months ago to answer: "It can wait. Just don't take forever, ok?" She glanced resignedly at Brett. "Guess you get to stay in suspense for a while. Sorry."

Mira pursed her lips slightly, deciding what to say. "Well, I think that a clue to Force's weakness and rebellion within his ranks are fairly important, but . . . I suppose it's not exactly time-sensitive at this point." She glanced back at Brett. "Oh, yes, I remember you said you were going to work on that. How's that going for you?"

"Pretty well, I just need to reassemble it." He grinned teasingly and then shrugged again. "Actually, i think I've fixed the leak. The trouble was in finding it, patching it wasn't so bad."

Static crackled through the radio, but Thrasher gave no response. Minutes later, the door banged open, and Thrasher himself stumped inside, a slim silver tablet tucked under one thick arm. He glared at Mira, scowled at Brett, and slumped in a moth-eaten beanbag out of direct view of anyone entering through the door. "I was doing something productive, so this better be worth a lot."
