Really. I haven't had that exact experience, but I can easily see it happen. They know they're not supposed to, and that is generally what would motivate them to do it. Not to say they are malicious.

Eep even so.
In my sister's case it's a general curiosity and perhaps a desire to push boundaries.

They don't have consistent goals, they're hard to reason with, and it's easy to mix up how old they are. Very hard to write.
Leilani, you could try volunteering as a Sunday school teacher. Which is mildly terrifying for me even though I have extensive experience.

*makes notes* I've observed all those . . . especially how easy it is to mistake ages. Volunteering as a Sunday school teacher is a good idea; I'd do that if I were still at my old church. My family's still between churches, though, so that'll have to wait until we figure out where we're going. (I agree with the mildly terrifying thing, especially since I DON'T have extensive experience, but at least that involves a time limit on my interactions with them.)

Everyone needs to take the enneagram test. It's like Meyers-Briggs but BETTER! Here's a link: www.eclecticenergies.com/enneagram/dotest Lemme know what you get. xD Warrior of Aror I'm going to guess that you're a 6 or a 1? Dmitri Pendragon I've got a hunch that you're a 1 or a 5. Somehow I end up getting lots of friends who are 1s and 5s, even though I'm a 4w3. :P

I got a 9. :P
What does that mean?

Lol. Now that I think about it, I'm not surprised that you got a nine. Gamey's a nine too. xD Here's a little analysis of the nine personality type: www.enneagraminstitute.com/type-9/

I think I took the Enneagram test before. Can't remember my results, though, so I'll take it again.
Ok, so I just retook both versions of the test and I'm either a 5w6 or a 1w9. I think it's probably 1w9, but I'm not totally sure.

I can see you as a 1w9. :) Have you read the descriptions for each type?

The site described my type as 'complacent'.
Yay.
EDIT: Well, Walt Disney is supposedly a 9 too, so I'm not insulted.

I don't think of nines as complacent so much as peacable. :) They're really good at creating peaceful atmospheres for other people, and you'd be surprised at the amount of good work that can be done when everybody feels at ease. I also know a couple of nines who are really great social justice advocates--all that desire for peace can be turned into a pretty sharp weapon, when the time comes. >:D You're in the same personality catagory as J.R.R. Tolkien, Claude Monet, Ronald Reagan, George Lucas, and Mister Rodgers.

I am a 9w1 who previously mistyped as a 1w9 (on your FB thread a few months back, Ly). Can I recommend the book The Sacred Enneagram by Christopher Heuertz? It's the Enneagram from a Christian contemplative perspective. Really helped me understand what the theory is about. I borrowed it from a friend and now I need my own copy. Warrior of Aror: As a fellow Nine, I would explain the core need of the Nines as the need to avoid. For me, I find it hard to operate while there is conflict in my environment, even when I'm not involved. For my own peace of mind, I must interfere in other people's fights and smooth out their points of disagreement. This need is heightened ever so much by my idealistic and rule-abiding One-wing.

Lylyss: Yepā both the main types and the types-with-wings. I didn't think either fit me perfectly (I don't think I'm as detached as the 1w9 is described, but I also don't think I'm as driven by anxiousness as the 5w6), but there were several things about both that made me go, "Oh, yup, that describes me." Though I just looked up correlations between MBTI and Enneagram, and 5w6 seems to be more common to ISTPs (which is what I am). And if I'm a Type 5 ISTP, that would explain why I tend to mistype as either an INTP or ISTJ. So maybe I'm that after all?

Dmitri Pendragon Well, I do try to avoid conflict. I saw that you had rated that book on Goodreads. I had wondered what it was about.

Warrior of Aror: I avoid many other things as well, including confrontation, emotional vulnerability, talking to people, asking for help, committing to responsibility, etc. That's not to say I always succeed in avoiding, because I have to do some of these things. In my experience, the typing questionnaires can really only give an indication of what your type is likely to be. I found that studying the theory and reading about the different types, e.g. reading the book, helped me more than algorithms where I couldn't trace the result back to my answers.

I'm either a 5w6, 5w4, 6w5, or a 9w1. There's like 1 point difference between 5w6 and 9w1. Based on what little I know about this though, it makes sense. I'm an INTP and withdrawing/observing is basically what I do. 6 also sort of appears to fit in a vague sense that I'm very loyal to the people I choose, but it has less to do with trust/distrust and more to do with protectiveness for the few people I like? And then 9 makes sense because inferior fe is basically maintaining harmony at the detriment of my own mental health because disharmony makes my anxiety act up.
So I would guess either a 5 or 9. And if I'm a 5 idk if it's 5w6 or 5w4 bc I'm definitely highly individualistic, but I don't use it to define my identity at all. But also, like I said I don't feel like 6 actually fits, it just appears to. w1 makes sense though as I'm cripplingly perfectionistic.
Edit. Nope. I did about 3min worth reading and I'm definitely 5w6.

What does ox stomach taste like? Yum, at least I think it's yum. But then again, I do eat a lot of weird stuff. It kinda has the texture of calamari or something with the texture of that. It's really good with sesame oil.
