( Dmitri Pendragon Leilani Sunblade I'd be down for some sort of stalemate, I don't even remember the exact situation we left at anyway xD) (Dmitri: not much of a preference there, but if you like it less dark then she should probably get mixed with a hero instead of another villain, but I'm sure you imagined it no other way anyhow. I think K&K as a duo are gone forever.)

The mustache man's shoulders drooped like a wet rag. "Nobody appreziates strudels anymore. It eesn't like zee goot old days when people charged loike mobs to get zee Amazing Strudels." The baker turned to go.
Suddenly there was an alien noise like a shout of recognition. A dozen aliens with bulging, widely separated eyes ran toward Talmoran and Hadar's starfighter. The mustache man, however, interpreted the situation slightly differently. He sprang to as straight a posture as possible and pulled his cart in front of Hadar, shouting, "There eez enough for everyone! Step right up, only 8 credits per strudel!"
The foremost alien whipped out a small rocket and blew the cart to splinters. The mustache man fell to the ground in horror. There was strudel everywhere.
The aliens hopped over the few remains of the cart and charged for Hadar and the starfighter.

(( Asariah Darkthorne : I know how you feel. Those were indeed glory days—I'd call them the Golden Age of Elves, as in the Berinfell histories.)) ((Lich1: 13 to defend (5 check) / 11 to attack (10 check) )) ((Lich2: 15 to attack (10 check) )) ((Valene: 10 to defend (10 check) )) The slash across the lich's chest began melding at the corners, weaving itself back together without even the hint of a scar. It pressed its assault, easily knocking aside Ver's attack, and launched into a series of quick but unhurried thrusts at Ver's torso. Valene regained her feet and exchanged blows with her opponent, neither giving ground. Ver parried the thrusts easily, now that she had more room to maneuver. Between parries, she struck back at the lich, aiming her 'saber towards its limbs. She saw clearly now that her best, probably her only chance, was to separate it from- well, at least from its arms, and preferably from its legs and head as well. ((Rolled: 17 to defend (7 check), 14 to attack (13 check).)) The lich's body rippled once, and glossy skin replaced the open wound in its chest. It blocked Ver's attacks and attempted a counterassault of thrusts and slashes but slowly gave way to defensive swings of its glowing blade. Valene's opponent launched into another frenzied attack, hammering on the Imarien Protector's defence. Valene blocked each blow, giving ground slowly. Shapes and motions tugged at her mind, forming a pattern, a system—an algorithm, almost. On intuition, she swept her lightsaber sideways, blocking a thrust she hadn't seen coming. The lich pulsed bright green in response, reacted a second, a moment too slow. With a single powerful blow of her lightsaber, Valene hacked the lich in two pieces and kicked it in the chest. The lich's upper body fell backwards off its severed legs, which remained standing a moment longer. With cold precision Valene chopped the lich into small pieces and stamped the pieces into the ghostly ground. She turned her attention to Ver's fight, tracking the motions of each, identifying the possibilities of joining Ver's fight. ((Lich1: 20 to heal (critical success, 15 check) / 10 to defend (10 check) / 6 to attack (10 check) )) ((Lich2: 12 to attack (10 check) / 3 to defend (10 check) )) ((Valene: 11 to defend (10 check) / 20 to attack (critical success, 10 check) )) ( Dmitri Pendragon Leilani Sunblade I'd be down for some sort of stalemate, I don't even remember the exact situation we left at anyway xD) (Dmitri: not much of a preference there, but if you like it less dark then she should probably get mixed with a hero instead of another villain, but I'm sure you imagined it no other way anyhow. I think K&K as a duo are gone forever.) (( Leilani Sunblade, NightBlade: Who was Decretus coming for—Kara, Matrus, the Jedi? Perhaps we could arrange that Dae, Jarayim, Matrus and Kara teamed up to defeat Decretus—an alliance which makes sense if Matrus and Kara think about it—and after which they all agree to go their separate ways? I don't mind if Matrus alerts the Sith to the Jedi presence on Korriban (if he is motivated to do so, which is unclear because Matrus is Matrus), but I would like to do a Man vs. Nature conflict on Korriban before any Sith come into the picture.)) (( NightBlade: Right. I'll have a think about it and see what characters and plots I can come up with. Right now I'm thinking: Space pirates.))
(( Warrior of Aror, Elytra)) Two miniature aliens converged on the remains of the mustache man's cart and pounced on the strudel, stuffing pastry into their disproportionately wide mouths.

The mustache man shrieked in horror and tackled the miniature aliens. "Geet away from my strudels you foul beazts!"
---
Two aliens seized Hadar by the arms, a third punched him in the stomach to force him to the ground. Before five seconds had passed, they gagged him and began to drag him back to their ship. Other Rakatan aliens boarded Talmoran's fighter and laid down suspicious ticking passages, then quickly retreated.
Before the Rakatans had dragged Hadar back to the ship, laser bolts erupted from the roof and a score of robots with the markings "P. M. Harbor Private Security"
---
Meanwhile, Talmoran was browsing the mechanic shops. He saw a sign that said, "Force-Sensitive Fortune Tellers." But he didn't go in because he wasn't gullible.

( Dmitri Pendragon I haven't the first foggy clue (it's slowly starting to come aback now that I talk about it) but Decretus can leave as quickly as he came, though I'm not sure yet where you want Matrus to fit in. I'm game for giving him some more action, in any case.) (Pirates sound fun. Hadar shook in horror and shock. He hated the slimyness of the alien's arm. And to think that they had touched his mouth! What germs could he have infested by these... beasts. When the laserfire shot towards the aliens, Hadar wriggled, reeling in horror at the slimyness on his arms, trying to get away.

The miniature alien tackled by the mustache man screamed in the man's face, relinquishing the contents of its mouth in the process. The second miniature alien jumped onto the mustache man's back, wrapped its legs around the man's neck and yanked on both ends of the man's mustache.
(( NightBlade: For the start of the survival plot, at least, I would be happy for Matrus to be absent; but if you wanted to give him some more action, then he could either be hunting the Jedi for whatever reason (hey, I don't know what goes on behind that mask) or casually notifying the other Sith that a couple of Jedi are wandering Korriban's plains. Which results predictably.)) ((I'm up for that! Let me take a while to think up a few characters and I'll get back to you.))

ElytraThe aliens' slimy hands made their grip on Hadar loose. Civilians screamed and ran about in chaos. The harbor security forces felled one of the Rakatans holding onto Hadar, but the other held a laser pistol to Hadar's throat. The security teams formed a battle line several yards away behind ships and crates. Their fire pinned down the Rakatans before they could make it back to their ships. The turrets on the ceiling picked off the aliens rapidly. Then one of the pilots in a Rakatan ship launched a torpedo at the enemy's battle line. The floor itself seemed to heave, and all lights and colors erupted into over saturated lightning. The Rakatan holding Hadar made a run for its ship. --- Talmoran saw excited crowds in the distance issuing from the direction of the harbor. Voices of far away panic came on the wind. He turned for the harbor, but did not think to hurry.

Valene staggered away from the remains of the lich, clutching her side. "I'm not bleeding and I don't think they've hit a vital organ, but I don't know whether they poison their blades or what they do." She straightened gingerly, hissing through her teeth. "This should be bleeding."

"Their blades were glowing. Is it possible the wound cauterized immediately, like a lightsaber wound would?" Ver guessed not; Valene probably would've noticed if it had. But it was worth asking. "In any case, I'd say no blood is a good thing. Unless there's something stuck inside and that's what's stopping it." She glanced at the lich's blade. It didn't seem to have any pieces broken off. "Or . . . we are in the underworld, after all. It's possible that has something to do with it." She moved to Valene's side in case the other girl needed support. "Do you think you can go on?"

"Not with this as it is." Valene flattened her palm on the wound and bit her lip. After a few moments, she lifted her hand to an unchanged wound. Lines dug into her brow. "Force healing isn't doing—" She looked up to face Ver. "I can't—I can't feel the Force." (( Dmitri Pendragon, do you break every single one of your characters? Or just the ones I like?)) No. No. Not again. Not again. Not Valene. Not another person, a friend now, dying because of her. I should've been faster- Should've handled it on my own- Should've seen it happening and stopped it- But she hadn't, and now-ish Stop. Valene wasn't dead yet. She could still be saved. Stay calm. "That- That's a problem." Understatement. But better that than panic. "The lich couldn't be affected by the Force; their blades must've somehow transmitted that to you." Stay calm. They knew the problem; they could fix it. Somehow. "I'm going to try Force Healing on you and we'll see if that works. It might not." But they could try. They could hope. They had to hope. "If not-" If not, what? Valene couldn't go on like this. "If not, we'll figure out something, and once this is all over, you can come with Rual, Ezar, and me to the Jedi Temple. I'm sure someone there will know how to fix this." Someone had to, with all the greatest Jedi Masters and all the accumulated knowledge of the Order there. Ver knelt beside Valene. "I will warn you; this is not my forte. It may hurt, even if it works." She put her hand over Valene's wound- not touching it, but hovering a few inches above- and shut her eyes. Then she reached out through the Force towards the wound. Relax. Relax and focus. Focus. Within wound and flesh, through the Force, she sought foreign elements to draw out even as she worked to mend the cut and seal the wound. ((IDK if you want me to roll for that or not? I can, if you want me to. But if you have a plan, I doubt you'll change it for a dice roll.))

(( Leilani Sunblade : What do you mean? I haven't broken Jarayim Till Tarmys Darumar Cald Arenna Helm Dragonhelm Ezar Ravon yet, have I?)) No foreign elements reached Ver's attention. Slowly, painfully slowly—much more slowly than usual—the damaged flesh knitted itself back together, sealing into a bright ugly scar across Valene's side. "This is a ruse," Valene breathed. "They're going to do something to me. Something dark and painful and ultimately unsurprising. They'll activate whatever the lich left it me and leave me to die. I know it. I feel it. It wouldn't have died so easily otherwise." She pushed her palms against her temples and kneaded her skin against her skull. ((Oh you're hilarious. Congratulations, you found one character.))
"I'm sure my sister could suggest a few, if she were here." Though it's best she isn't. Much as Ver wished she could have Dae fighting beside her, it was for the best that Dae never set foot on this deathtrap of a planet. "Whatever they did, we'll deal with it when it comes up. I don't think there's much more we can do now. Just try to give me some warning if you feel something happening, all right?" Ver offered a hand to help Valene to her feet. "And once we find the captives, we'll try to keep you away from the worst of the action. Even with the healing, you probably should try not to push yourself too much for a bit anyway." It was a pitiful solution- not even a solution, just an attempt to minimize the potential damage. But it was the best Ver could come up with right now.

Valene took a deep breath and straightened, flinching automatically when the scar pulled at her skin. "I'm not putting the bulk of the work on you." She glared at the line of glowing footsteps, now dim against the not-ground, and picked up her lightsaber. "I'll do what I can. And more, if it comes to saving me or saving the Imarien." She flicked on the lightsaber to make sure it still worked, then deactivated it and headed after the footprints. "This is slowing us down."

The goal is to save all of you- Ver bit back the thought as she hurried after Valene and fell back in step beside her. There was no point in arguing now, not with neither of them likely to back down. When they found the Imarien- then they could discuss things. They should be close at this point, if the lich had come back to stop them.

Nearly an hour into the trek—if it could rightly be called time, here in the netherworld—the light in the footprints had increased to a bright green.
Valene pointed her deactivated lightsaber at a shimmering in the air ahead and dropped her voice. "Do you think we ought to make a plan or anything?"
