Find out how many other people are interested in it. If there are others, I'll consider it; if not, then no.

Lady Lessien: Do you mean the whole Cosmere? jliessa44: Yeah, I know, and I agree. I was just reminding you that you don't have to reject threads based on technical server problems anymore.

Jag Starblade: Heh. That would be awesome . . . but also incredibly complicated.

Leilani Sunblade: But then we can work out what happens when a Ferruchemist Mistborn duralumin-burns and compounds a Lerasium Hemalurgic spike which the Ferruchemist had filled (with whatever one fills Lerasium with...)! And other things like that (You could probably make it more complicated with other forms of Investiture, but Mistborn (excluding The Alloy of Law) is the only Cosmere series that I've read.)

What happens is that all my characters run for the hills because that character is about to get seriously powerful. JK.
Anyway. I think that's about as complicated as you could make it . . . most of the other Cosmere powers wouldn't affect Feruchemy or Allomancy, I don't think. I could be wrong; I've read almost all the Cosmere novels but I haven't gotten deep into the theories and such. (You should read the others, BTW. Especially the Stormlight Archive.)

I might be tempted to do a Scadrial (Mistborn) battle…I wouldn't involve myself in it as deeply as CaC2, though. I think a Mistborn battle thread has a lot of potential, since Brandon Sanderson defined the world and especially the powers (Allomancy, Feruchemy, Hemalurgy) so well. And, of course, there's always the Coppermind if we need more information: coppermind.net

I'll join just about any Sanderson-book-based battle, to be honest. So that's . . . two people for Roshar (Stormlight Archive) and two or three for Scadrial (Mistborn), since I'm not sure if Jag confirmed he'd join one.

An idea for a single Cosmere battle adventure thread could be that we treat the different worlds as different subplots. I've been brainstorming plot ideas for Scadrial already. My current idea is where a group of rogue Keepers attempt to free the Terris Dominance from the Lord Ruler, occurring sometime in the thousand years of the Final Empire.

Not to confuse things by bringin in another thread while we're discussing the battle thread thing but...
I had and idea for an adoptable thread. Where we could post scars, backgrounds, plots, characters, etc. that we'll probably never use and then let people adopt them for their stories. Kinda like the Nano adoptable forum, but one thread for everything.
But I'm not really sure what the interest would be. So would people be interested or no?

Dmitri Pendragon Pendragon: That sounds doable. Also, canonically, there are a few characters who've hopped from one Cosmere world to another. None you've met extensively, though, and they're very rare. (I only know of two for sure.) jliessa44: I like that idea. *nods*

Leilani Sunblade: Hoid and Demoux. Yes, I know of them. The first time I was sure Mistborn was in the Cosmere was when Hoid appeared in The Final Empire.

Dmitri Pendragon Pendragon: Demoux as well? I guess that's three, then. Unless Demoux is the same as another person . . . but I don't think he is. *heads to the Coppermind to figure it out* Edit: After investigation, I'm up to 5 worldhoppers. Hoid/Wit, Demoux, Vasher/Zahel, Galladon, and an unknown third man who was with Demoux and Galladon on Roshar. And it's possible that I still might be missing people.

I only know Demoux is one because Sanderson said he would be keeping Demoux alive, since Demoux was named after a friend of his. If it's a spoiler for The Stormlight Archive, I don't think I'll read the spoiler. I hope to read that series soon.
Do the Sentinels have a verdict on the Cosmere adventure thread yet?

Ah. And the spoiler contains no major spoilers, as far as I know- only one, maybe two, of the characters mentioned come anywhere close to being properly significant so far in The Stormlight Archive- though, the one most significant in TSA is probably the least significant in any other novel. But there's also no need for you to look at it; I mostly put it there for me to reference later.
Um . . . I'm fine with it. Other Sentinels? Care to offer any thoughts?

Sure! I don't see why not. There aren't that many going on right now, and I think the adventure threads are the most popular threads. :)

Awesomesauce. So who's making the thread? I can, or someone else can, either way.

I think Rye wanted to do it. So maybe give her a chance and then if she doesn't I say it's fair game.

So are we making a Mistborn thread or a Roshar one? I sorta got lost.

I believe we're making a battle/adventure/roleplay thread for the Cosmere as a whole. So we can have some subplots on Roshar, some in Scadrial, and some in other worlds (once there's multiple people who've read those books).

Um, could there be a thread where we pick apart movies and critique modern literature?

Post by Leilani Sunblade on Apr 14, 2015 13:06:11 GMT
Discussion of books can go on the Reading Ideas and Discussion thread. As far as I know, we don't have a movies thread yet, though. I don't think we need a thread specifically for in-depth discussion/critique/picking apart unless a great many UGers would be interested in it, honestly.

Should I resurrect the "Star Wars fan club" for anyone who doesn't want to use CaC2? ( Loon: you can count me in for a "picking-apart" thread for movies, TV shows, etc. I rather enjoy critiquing stuff like that...)

If you would like to recreate the Star Wars fan club, you're welcome to do so.
