Could we have, like, a slow-paced Character Conversations and Complaints thread? I'd like to bring characters into the CCaC3 thread, but it moves too fast during my nighttime and other times when I'm not available. I feel as though my posts would get lost in it.

Uhhmmmm. Gosh. I want to tentatively say that's a good idea, but I'd have to talk to Leilani when she gets because I also see some issues with it. Like how would we regulate how much people are allowed to post, when is too many posts, etc. It would be a massive project (maybe., maybe not) that I don't entirely have time for.

Well... I still intend to resign from and petition for the current thread to be deleted at some point. So maybe now would be a good time...

Gah. Why? T.T

Because one day I would like to publish, plus also if people are intending to advertise this place, then there is a lot of character and plots sort of things on the thread that I don't want to leave to any random. I've actually been meaning to stop for years just your guys always drew me back o.O

I have to side with Starsinger on this, as much as I've never felt the need to draw back from the underground, I wouldn't be comfortable with SO much of my characters on a site that will be advertised. If there's an influx of people I'm afraid I don't know what I'd do, aside from try to remove my stuff. It sounds harsh because I love you all and I do enjoy you reading my writing, but I'd like to try and publish some day too.

I'm with Dmitri. CCaC3 goes WAY too fast for me to keep up...

I wouldn't oppose the idea. I would think that to keep it simple we could just have some of the more laid back RPers (just a generalization, opposed to those who post multiple times in the space of 5 minutes.) That way we could have a loose rule like "don't post more than x-number (3? 5?) times before each participant gets one in" so that a slower person doesn't have to scroll through pages. I can recall being gone for less than an hour and scrolling through literally 3 and a half pages of just two people's posts xD And if someone is latent for a long time, say a whole day, then the other can just move on at the same, measured pace.

I'm with NightBlade on this one. I've luckily haven't had my ideas or characters stolen, but I've seen many people who have been through that and it isn't fun at all. I didn't get too much into the CaCC thread but there are still some things in there that I wouldn't want the public to see before I (eventually) publish.

Soooo I'm finally back. Do people still want the slower Character Chat thread? I'm not sure what I think on the matter- too tired to make Sentinel decisions right now- but I'll be considering it if it's still a think people want.

I'm still hoping for it, yes. I'm happy to draft a set of rules and post them beforehand.

Dmitri Pendragon: If you could create that draft and PM it to Liessa and me, just so I (at least) can get a clearer idea of what you have in mind, that would be great. Thanks.

My two cents: maybe we could move it to the writing threads sub-forum to prevent at least some idea theft? Just an idea

That might not be a bad idea. Though it would make it more difficult to attract people based on roleplaying.
Others' thoughts? I'd like to hear what the Elves in general think of that idea.

Once they're members won't the new people be able to see it?

This forum is more hidden than the last one. Why worry?

jliessa44: Yes, but I know that on another forum, a big part of why I wanted to join was that I'd actually read some of the roleplays and said "Hey, this looks like fun!" and that won't be an option if they're hidden. Elytra: I think because people are wanting to advertise the UG?

I just meant moving the rps wouldn't be a permanent solution. XD I agree though that it's the reason I joined the forums I did when I was younger.
And pretty much what Leilani said.

Can I make a one off thread for a laugh? It can be deleted after its run its life.

It's always good to be cautious. It's also equally good to have a laugh now and then. And I trust Raptor's not going to do anything stupid with it.
Tell him to PM you the details. I know nothing about what he's planning, by the way.

What if there was a School Help thread? A thread for posting generally about school resources and asking questions and everything.

My initial reaction to that thought: "Not a bad idea, but half the UG population is in college at this point." Which isn't to say that college isn't a type of school, but it's different . . . eh. I'm not sure how many people would actually use it? If there's enough people who think they'd use it, I'd say go for it.

Fair point. I won't be in college for a little while yet, so mine isn't a very informed opinion, but wouldn't college students benefit too? I mean, say they had a question to ask about grammar in essay writing? Or even maybe feedback on a project or something. Also, as new members come they may be in high school still and find use in it as well.

They could benefit, yes. It just depends what they need help with. As I said, find out how many other people would be interested and use it, and if others are interested, go ahead and make the thread.
