Leilani SunbladeHe is indeed extremely terrifying. If you'd like to see his final battle, this link should take you to the specific part of the video. But in fair warning, a guy does utter one mild naughty term near the end. youtu.be/FsL53Mae5Kw?t=1289

Impressive. Though, I halfway expected the Arbiter to just crush the guy's skull at some point when he was picking him up by the head/neck . . . and I saw the stab to the eye coming. xD

NightBlade vs WookieeElf in chat thread battle? I'm my opinion Nightblade has the upper hand right now.

That's cause he had a drop shield. I'm on to you, NightBlade.

A Full Shardbearer (not a Surgebinder) versus a Force Adept with a lightsaber?
And I have to ask…Jorus Travar versus Obi-Wan Kenobi?

Post by Leilani Sunblade on Dec 28, 2015 1:10:37 GMT
Match 1: Depends mostly on whether or not lightsabers can cut Shards, and also on how good the Jedi is at dodging. I'm going to assume that Shards (or Shardblades, at least) are more or less impervious to lightsabers. In this case, the Shardbearer would have the advantage, as the Shardblade would have a longer reach than the lightsaber, and the Shardbearer would have armor, while the Jedi would not. The Jedi would have to dodge and block until he could get a lucky blow, or else Force-throw enough things at the Shardbearer that his Plate locks up. Meanwhile, all the Shardbearer has to do is keep the Jedi at swords-length and avoid projectiles until the Jedi is tired enough that he slips up and the Shardbearer can take him down with a stroke through the spine.
Match Two: Ends in a draw with both exhaustedly complementing each other's swordfighting. If there absolutely has to be a winner . . . probably Obi-Wan but I could be wrong.

Javez, Ka ( ), Athia, Essa, Kara, and Kayma vs. Traull?

|
|
Post by NightBlade on Jan 8, 2016 23:10:25 GMT
Well, that's a whole lot of Force power on the one side, so I think they'll take out Traull with some teamwork (pushing, lightning, throwing stuff, blocking, etc) but they would take a few casualties. What do the others think? How would it go down in their eyes?

Traull would go down. End of story.

I was hoping Traull would go down . . . but the guy's scary. So I wasn't certain.

Oh he definitely would, but he would inflict a good bit of damage on the way down. Between rockets, nades, a sword and enough shields and armor to withstand a concussion missile, he might drop one or two of the more reckless opponents :/

10 Phase I clone troopers vs. 10 Stormtroopers (episodes IV-VI)

Pffft the Clones would destroy them. So much better squad tactics, weapons and training.

Eh, I don't think it's that simple. Contrary to what most believe about the Stormtroopers, they were actually elite troops with excellent training. Also, the E-33 is actually an overall more versatile weapon than the DC-15 of the Clone Troopers, with the DC's main advantage being range. It is also true, however, that the Clones likely would work better as a unit because they are, well, Clones. Honestly, depending on the environment, I think the Stormtroopers would win out against Phase I Armored Clones, or at least it'd be close. But I'm not so sure about against Phase II. I just think it's that cut and dry.

The only sources that suggest Stormtroopers are worth osik are non canon unfortunately...but even accepting the EU the clones still massively outmarch the Stormies. Even the good Stormtroopers were clones. Plus the DC-17 was the more versatile by far...the 17 modular system for the commandos, the sniper, arc and disrupted variants, etc. The clones were based off a genetically perfect soldier, Stormies have no measuring stick.

DC-17, yes, but that was not the standard issue weapon, I was assuming standard issue. Also, Jango may have been an exceptional bounty hunter, but he was far from the perfect soldier--he was too prone to individuality :P the Kaminoans genetically modified the Clones to get rid of that. But yeah, you're probably right, the Clones would probably come out on top. However, it is possible to form the conclusion that the Stormtroopers weren't terrible shots based simply from the movies :P

I meant 15 True but I think individuality is largely a personal trait. Yeah, even obi wan suggested they were supposed to be "precise" x)

The only reason why we see Stormtroopers acting so lame is because they're shooting at MAIN CHARACTERS. It wouldn't be a trilogy if Luke died in ANH. Besides, you saw how they took out those Rebels on the Blockade Runner.
I'd say it's a pretty even match, unless the clones brought in Omega and Delta Squad. Then the stormies are toast.

To be fair, the Stormtroopers have elite squads as well. I'm picturing this as ten G.I. Clones vs. ten G.I. Stormtroopers. But yeah, I think it would be pretty even. If we use just movie information, we actually don't have a whole lot to go by floor either of them, so I accept information from the EU and whatnot.
For the record, no matter what the "official" canon is, I consider everything Legends still canon. I don't care if VII overwrites all post Galactic Civil War stuff. :P

Throw in a couple First Order troopers and FN-2199 (aka TR-8R), and they'd win.
Yeah, I was kinda upset they scrapped the EU, but some of the stuff that happened in there was weeeeeeeird.

Bringing this back. Who would win: Rey versus Arwen? Kylo Ren versus Khan? A cave troll versus Spock?

I still haven't seen TFA, but I'd back Rey against Arwen in a fight.

|
Post by Ellron Silvertree on May 17, 2016 18:08:49 GMT
Rey would probably beat Arwen, Kylo Ren has the Force and honestly, the movies just don't reflect how overpowered that would make him. Khan has superhuman capabilities, but that doesn't matter if Kylo has him pinned from 100 meters away. I'm not sure about the last one, but I don't think Spock would even get into that fight.

Superman vs. Batman, who wins?
|
|
|
Post by Ellron Silvertree on May 18, 2016 2:58:26 GMT
It depends on the fight. Batman beat Superman once in the comic, but they was by outsmarting him and using resources such as Green Arrow. I'm a head to head fight? Superman.
